Custom was glossy, the color on this one looks injected in the plastic. Most likely already a recolor from Takatomy.

True.  - Skywarp I posted has a clear anopy, while the picture above is yellowish. - Skywarp I posted has all purple null ray gun, picture above has black details - The chest intakes on my pic are black, the above picture has white - The waist section on my pic are purple and black, above pic is white and black Plus the paint quality that Otaru pointed out suggests an actual product (injected paint) from Takatomy, or thats one hell of a custom job. |

Color me impressed for a custom the paint is so thin that even the grooves for the panel lines are still prominent.

Come on. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that TakaTomy's gonna throw out at least SOME repaints of this mold.

One question. How do you paint the canopy white without making it lose its transparency?! Must be a custom made canopy...
Otaru is right... Seems like it's not paint, but the plastic color itself.

i think the canopy on mp starscream is clear anyway its just got an orange wash or something on it
could be paint though, they mgiht have just used black and white primer, the purple is probably paint though its alot mroe glossy then the black and white
