I liked Wills decals so much I wanted to use both. So I stuck the simulated handle for the legblades sticker on an old screen guard (cellphone) it clicks in place in the reccess of his chest and stays! That way I can enjoy both decals on Daimos!

Good idea indeed!
I'll get around to making the red hood piece for the chest at some point (as a decal!) Unless someone finally reproduces the piece in resin plastic.

Actually I should cut out the red part and it would look more like the poly yellow part. Hey Will am I missing two square butt stickers for him? I looked all over thinking the cat took off with them....nothing! I found one of raydeens planes in his bed. I guess he likes jumbos too!

The Daimos from Mattel is so close to the popy original that you could upgrade it into the correct state without too much effort.
One upper red chest wrap
One yellow insert for the front chest (what you are using a red plate and sticker for)
Two yellow shin guards
You could swap out that non firing fist arm from mattel and get a matching set of articulated joints and launcher fists.
If someone had the original popy forearm and fists - you could go all out with a full mattel upgrade kit, if you can mold and cast them accurately.
The transformers community has a lot of "fans project" items.
They are short run manufactured kits that upgrade or enhance the commercially released takara and hasbro figures.
Sometimes it makes you wonder if there is enough demand for this, or even a new jumbo machinder made from a indy designer.
I'd like to make the Bio Robo Jumbo, A Vf1a Valkyrie, the akumaizer or bibyun teams - those would be great... I even have heard that Super 7 is coming out with an optimus prime machinder.

I'd read over at the macross forums that one of guys scratch built two 24" vf1s valks. Pretty cool. And he's selling them. I'll try to find the pics.

The upper legs on the Mattel are a completely different design from the Popy and cannot be "upgraded" to hold missile launchers. The only way to do that would be to swap the legs out for a Popy set or to mold and recast the legs and missile launchers completely. |

upgrading a mattel daimos to a popy equivalent would not be so easy. dont forget the cuffs and custom hands, and leg missile launchers.
