Hey Derik,
I'm from Waltham and although I have never personally attended, I believe the East Coast Chogokin Summit is held in August. The venues have changed year to year but most recently Watertown has been the spot. The guys over at CollectionDx coordinate the event.
I would like to attend this year and hope a lot of the Jumbo crowd goes. It'd be really cool to meet a lot of these guys in person. Being the computer challenged person that I am, I don't have Facebook but believe they dedicate a page to the event as it nears.

I'd like to attend. Wasn't able to the last 2 years. Will have to see how the finances look. It will be a bit of a haul for me... I love in Ohio.

Yes it's usually sometime in August, usually the third weekend of the month, and usually on a Saturday as well. I've gone the last two years.

Fantastic! Thank you! What do you do at the summit? Any trading or buying going on there? Would live to find a Tetsujin.

Chilling, trading, buying. Myself and some of the other guys usually just bring crazy or unique stuff to show. Big or small. You can talk to one person or to a bunch. You can even bring a beat up toy you loved as a kid. We love stories. Sometimes do a little display if room permits.
Not usually much in the way of jumbos, but some may turn up. A few jumbo collectors do come through. We like diecast, also a decent amount of macross stuff and some anime specific figures. Some guys bring specific stuff, some a mixed bag. It's nice.
If you meant a jumbo tetsujin, you most likely won't find that, but you could make a post you are looking for one. If you meant a popy st/dx or godaikin dx you might find one loose st, but again for something big like a dx it would be best to post you are looking for one before coming to the summit.
They generally do film the event as well. You may get photographed in a public style camera sweep, and no interviews are necessary.
It is a great time though.

And don't forget RJ has had a somewhat annual summit in years past. I don't know if Ed has anything planned for this year or not.
I just haven't been able to get my ass down to Florida due to my schedule. Would love to meet Ed and some of the guys.

HEY! Just dug this thread up, after doing my regular annual ride to the East Coast Chogokin Summit, at JoshB's house. We had a great time, excellent weather, a very cool mixed crowd, and TONS of cool toys! I'm posting in this thread, because I wanted to give Derik a big shout out, for being one of the nicest new attendee's I got to yappity yap with for a while and check out his wares in person. Excellent excellent quality repro plastic parts here! I was very impressed with how he's managed to formulate different flex rates into the plastics, like the leg side clips for the missles, that are nice and flexy to not snap tabs, and the missles and pilder that fire and fit perfectly. Good guy, and glad to meet him.
