Who here is down for getting chrome elbows for vintage voltrons made out of diecast? The diecast is just a result of the materials at our disposal not because its preferred. Pricing to be determned
How about chrome diecast swords for the MP Vehicle Voltron? If enough people are interested we may look into it.

Now heres the thing, we need to find someone willing to sacrifice the original sword to make the initial sword.. thats going to be the tough part. Since we are not using metal tooling cut out by CNC machine, the process to make the mold usually ends up melting the original piece. But once the mold is taken, many can be made. Another option is to ha e one 3d printed. We were already working on one for the Dairugger jumbo but gave up acter we realized it was going to be way too heavy lol..

Interesting idea Charles...keep us posted! I figured you might be down. I am going to send out a set of elbows to create the original mold. Then from that the new ones can be cast. Believe it or not, with this process, its easier to use diecast! Then it goes through a plating process which from what Ive seen looks pretty awesome. There is so much possibility for other stuff but we gotta get support to make it worthwhile. Weve already made diecast Seeker missiles, swords and more. Even a Mazinger chogokin. Were also looking into making diecast body parts for tf figures. We are taking one step at a time though! I say we but Im only consulting, my friend in Colombia is actually the one doing all the work.

As far a destroying the original sword, a pretty accurate and flawless version can be molded from the original out of plastic resin and used to created those diecast molds instead. Or, maybe one could be purchased separately from MP themselves, but that would be harder I think.

For the DX Dairugger/Vehicle Voltron sword, I happen to already have an ABS repro one I bought on Ebay. Its a pretty clean example. I will sacrifice it if you can make me 2 chrome ones. Let me know or PM me about it and we'll talk. I think everyone would benefit from it, myself included as I would have an easy 2-3 additional buyers already.

If someone can make a flawless resin piece, then that would be preferable. The process of making the mold usually melts the original plastic, sometimes it survives but sometimes it doesnt. Im not sure of the process but he mentions vulcanizing.

Weve done swords already and they come out out nice. As a matter of fact its made by the same person who made me the custom MazingerZchogokin figure I posted here a while back. The finishes are awesome cause its a factory that makes stuff like drawer handles and knobs and they also work with pvc but thats not something we have access to at the moment.

I think the sword I have will hold up fine. Its like flexible ABS plastic, or resin. The only thing I could see as an issue is that the paint used on it has texture. So the paint may need to be carefully sanded off, or removed with thinner to get to the smooth plastic underneath. I will have to send it too you, so you can check it out. If you can't make one, send it back. But if so, keep it, use it, and make me a pair of swords. PM if you want me to send it and provide your address, and I will get it on the way.

All I need if possible is the length and width of the sword to see if we can cast it, if so we will need it to be sacrificed, it may not survive the mold making process due to the intense heat. However a nice mold will be left and we can make diecast swords with nickel plated finishes.

Hey, sorry I haven't checked this forum section for a while, and missed this. I'd commit to an elbow set for GoLion, and a MP Dairugger sword. I'd be willing to have my sword silicone molded and resin casting an exact replica for sacrificial use...once they finally ship.

I will be sending Lionbot elbows if I cant get originals but I have to make sure they will work with Matchbox/popy sets. Hopefully the sword falls within limits to be able to cast it. Im shipping parts that will be sacrificed very soon. If anyone has ideas of what else could be made please let me know. I am sending an ebay dairugger to get some diecast parts for it. Legs, chest, sword.. so we'll see how that comes out. Might require gluing legs so the dont fall off when picking it up lol

Charles I don't know if you should use the Lionbot pieces. Let me check my spares I may have some really junk lions, and if the elbows are identical on the red and green then I think you will just need one.
PM me if necessary.
