I came across this short film at Facebook where it was posted as a link
by RJer
FB Washington (the Robot God Akamatsu guy).
I followed that link to its website and watched the movie.
I enjoyed it. I didn't expect it to be a 'silent' movie (no spoken dialog).
Which felt nice as it allowed me to use my imagination as the story progressed.
I also enjoyed seeing how the kid just wakes up and goes into
the robot bay and you see all those other robots idled in "storage" like that;
then he looks at the pilot suit--- makes ya wonder what was on the
kid's mind at that moment. lol
So, the kid appears to be an orphan... his parents died...
...he was then raised by the old man.... it appears the old man
had also trained the kid (the scene where the kid catches
the fly with his chopsticks)...
...not a word was said between them, yet it's as if they were
reading each others minds. Nice 'telepathy' going on there. lol
The scene where the monster awakens and attacks the lab crew
was Epic..... lol, it ate the one crew dude who was hangin off
the ledge, and stomped another guy into the floor like SPLAT! LOL ;D
As for how the kid survived, I dunno, but he was lucky to destroy
the monster with a final blow.
Will there be any more films like this one? I dunno, but I do
look forward to them someday.
The animation looked really good, I wish (and I hope) that my
Mazinger-Z "Ashler's Revenge" project turns out as good as this flick.
The sound effects in this flick were spot on with the action...
...almost like watching a CG animated Streetfighter or Tekken game.
