Seeing as how the new game will not be done by Rocksteady, but instead Warner Bros Interactive using the same game engine. I'm going in with low expectations this time around. The game is coming later this year. toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=10&itemid=20258Gold

I'm playing Arkham City Right now. AMAZING game! Just Amaze-balls! Guess I'm still not wholly sure what exactly Arkham Origins is. Is it a Prequel? Seems interesting. Hope Warner interactive can live up to what the previous devs did. EDIT: Sorry, Gold. Just started reading your link. Seems like it could be a'iight, but I get nervous when game devs just kinda...hmm...jump the ship. WBI better not muck this up.

No worries Recca74. I think it might be a game set in the same universe as Arkham Asylum but not directly releated to the events of the first 2 games. Guess they wanted to go with a prequel as they still haven't decided to go about continuing the story to a direct sequel to Arkham City (the whole Azrael angle, the Hush angle seem to be the strong contenders for the story to a direct sequel). Arkham Origins is set for an Oct 15 release date this year. Gold

It's supposed to be a prequel, yes. WB Montreal (who handled to WII U port) said they were going back several years before Arkham Asylum, with a less experimented Batman and younger versions of classic villains, like the Penguin without his glass bottle monocle. Ok, but I hope they don't go too far back. Being badass Batman was a huge part of the fun in Arkham City. But since he already has the Batwing in this game, I suppose they won't be rewinding too far. Not as far back as Year One. At first I was kind of disappointed. The same engine and more or less the same gameplay-wise; sounded like more like a big expansion pack for Arkham City than a sequel (or prequel). But then I wondered how that was a bad thing exactly. WII U Arkham City apparently had some framerate problems and the WII U controller extras felt tacked-on, but most reviews said it was a good port. (I can't say, I haven't played it myself.) Plus, the project is being handled by the lead designer of Prototype and Hulk : Ultimate Destruction. Translation : niiiiiiiiice! Time to bomb them with "MY PARENTS ARE DEAD!" button requests. Seriously, if Wayforward put a "hug" button in A Boy and His Blob, WB Montreal can put a MPAD button in a Batman game.

Full Trailer. The cgi looks amazing as far as the cut scenes will go. Looks like Deathstroke will be playable. On a sad note, it's now confirmed that Kevin Conroy is no longer Batman for this game. Bats will now be voiced by Roger Craig Smith, who has done the voice of Chris Redfield in the Resident Evil series. Joker will be voiced by Tony Parker, who previously voiced Robin and Twoface in Arkham City. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_arkham_originsGold

Thanks for the trailer GOLD...
Arkham City was the best game of 2011. Truely off the hook in every aspect.
Origins will be hard pressed to follow up, especially with a company change. But I'll get it either way - I mean, how can you resist Batman!

A quick question, guys, please... Which is your favorite Arkham Batman figure among the three: Series 1, 3 or 4 in terms of "display" (not play)? Also, is there is any photo of the new Arkham Origins Batman figure yet? Thanx.

if its for display the one on the right is for me the better choice, the middle one has a terrible face and the left one although pretty nice looking im not a fan of the color mix as well it looks like it has its lips painted in pink(what...). as for the figures of the new Batman: Arkham Origins they already annouce the date release as well there is pictures of the figures.

Thanks for the image! Hmmm... I saw that Batman before, but wasn't sure it's from the Origins (I don't like its design). I am sorry, I am confused which right and left sides do you mean: on our right-hand-side facing the screen or on the middle Batman's right hand?

Got'cha! Thanks. You know what? I actually bought the figure you like last night. I think of it as the Bat, the Man and the Cat I mean, the middle fig. [sr.4] looks like a dark bat to me but it's kinda of a real-life Batman to me or like the one from the trailer maybe, and the one I bought on leftside is more of the comic and game Batman. I still dislike how smaller sr.4 is, but now that I have both versions... what should I complain 'bout? LOL! Cheers!

Finally finished this game the other day...got 100% on the Enigma puzzles and Gotham secret/landmark stuff. But, probably not going to go after the other challenges for now.
Not a bad game overall. It was a bit buggy IMO and not anything ground-breaking from Arkham City or Asylum.
