So I know we all collect robots, but we also want kick ass displays. Has any of you ever got for example a figuarts humanoid that was a character in your Robot's anime?
For example, getting Roger Smith to stand along with your Big-O.
Etc etc.

I have thought about doing something like this but sometimes the figures available are too out of scale depending on the particular version of the robot you own. It is also tough because some of the main human characters aren't even made into toys or little PVCs.
I find this type of display is much more common with scale model kits (especially vintage), but I definitely wish it was a more prevalent trend with robot toys.

Could it not be in scale and still work?

Could it not be in scale and still work? Depends on the look you are going for. If you just want characters than you can use anything. But for accuracy you might want to scale in proportion. For example, an SOC Daitarn 3 might look weird with a 1/6 scale size (hot toys size) banjo figure, but a PVC or scale model one (not micro tiny) might look a bit better.

I'd like to make another custom Koji Kabuto figure from an old Power Ranger figure or one of those dollar-store carded small GI Joe figures; but that would mean having to build a huge Mazinger-Z model to go with my Koji figure. I can't facilitate such a big project right now, but I hope to do it someday.

Is scale really important tho? I think a big o display with all the characters can look dramatic. Or u can get creative and Make it look like the robot is far away

The reason I don't have these is because they just won't make them. And that sucks.
There's loads of Evangelion figures, but even there your choice become quite limited if you're looking for a collection that includes Shinji, as most of them focus on the girls. That Figma Roger Smith felt like a divine apparition when it was announced, but now it looks like it was just a tease from Max Factory.
Scale isn't really important to me. It works fine for smaller robots like Heroman, but most pilot figures would be minuscule if they were in-scale. It would still be nice to have, but I'd end up wanting a larger version of the character as well just so we can see who that little blob of plastic is supposed to be.

There were these warhammer 40k mini figures (I think it was called adpetus titanicus) that actually look pretty cool with robot collections

Krimpov said it best. If they were scale most figures would be too time to see properly

Doesn't baron Weirwul and TMZ have some gashapon figures on display with their robots? I think I have seen some pictures like that.

baron had small ones and then bigger ones from patlabor figurines, but they were to big for the display and looked somewaht out of place with the trucks and the pilder.

if there were scale figures for SOC line, they would be the size of a grain of rice. you would need a magnifying glass to see them
