I am in need of a fist for mhy Godzilla. Mine has been without it since I bought it about 10+ years ago! I can't take it anymore and want to complete it. I understand that there are different versions of the toy. Did the fists and connectors change over time? If I get any fist, will it definitely fit mine regardless of version?
And is anyone still making repros of these?

I think Derik (Shogun Plastics) makes a couple of different fists for Godzilla and his work is pretty amazing. I have a bunch of his repro parts and will certainly buy more.

There is the lighter green on the 1st version. And a darker more army green on the latter versions I can make you either one

Yep, that's him (Derik)... black missiles, condor, swords, everything. I saw it at Facebook on my wall 9we're connected over there)... Definitely cool!

Derik's stuff is all well made and works great. I just got a set of replacement missile docks for my Mattel first Mazinger and they fit great and look just like original! Highly recommend.

Got my repro hand from Derik - nice work! But it does not stay in. I think I need to open up my 'zilla and do surgery. Anyone do this before? What can I expect when I open it? Easy enough to reassemble? Thanks.

I have taken apart a couple different editions. Most of the time the button that sticks out of the arm is glued in at the factory, and you end up snapping it off when pulling on it. It has to come out in order to pull the firing mechanism out of the arm. The mechanism is split in two pieces, sometimes it is also glued at the factory, other times its not and comes right apart and snaps back together easily. If the catch on the button is worn, sometimes it wont catch the fist. Shine a flashlight in there to take a look first.

Not sure I am following you, but I will try to look in and see what you mean. I was just thinking of cutting the spring down in size. I am thinking perhaps it is way too strong, coupled with a bad catch, like you are talking about. But if the spring is less strong (or perhaps even removed entirely), then it will hold and display OK. Thoughts?

I posted the images of the inside of the mechanism on the Shogun plastics facebook page for you. This one came apart with no problem. I took out the spring and cocked the fist in with no problems.

I had to do a Shift + click the Refresh button on my browser to reset the cache memory for this site to get the search and posting tools.
