I need some help restoring a Battle Shark PB-83

Hey everyone!



I recently found a deal on a Popy Battle Shark PB-83 and it needs some work. I wondered if any of you have had any luck painting the plastic "chrome"? If so, what was the paint that gave you the best results?



I also would like to find the little yellow wings/fins that are missing from the top of the front part of the ship. They don't have to be original, but it would be nice if the were from someone's junker Battle Shark. The antenna on top was broken when I got it, so I wouldn't mind a new one. I may just repaint the one that is on it.



Plus, as a bonus, I pushed a button on the rear of the ship to reveal A SECRET COMPARTMENT. Not so secret to many of you but I was excited to see that is was full of missiles from various 70's and 80's toys!



Below I've uploaded a picture and numbered the missiles that I found. If you know what the missiles come from I would REALLY appreciate any information. I'm pretty sure #1-4 go to the Battle Shark but I am not 100%.

7,9,10 are popy/godaikin missiles.
8 looks like a popy/shogun warriors missile for nessar from gaiking.

All of the above were used on multiple toys though so you have some flexibility.

The battle shark looks good.

If the areas you want chromed can't be disassembled, just leave it. Other than that your only option is alclad, or something like bare-metal foil for hobbyists, but those are for advanced techniques.

The only other alternative you'd have is a good "chrome style" spray paint you could get at a hobby or home improvement store but it won't have that high polished look. It will be chrome like.

I'd just be concerned with cleaning the whole piece up and everything will look better overall.

As far as your missing pieces, whole or either halves of battle shark pop up a lot in many different states of condition. You can pick them up cheap and it should be easy to find the parts you need.

Thanks for the info Mr. Ginrai. I cleaned it like crazy and it looks great now. You can really tell in the picture due to my crappy camera phone.

Next thing I need is a Battle Fever robot to company this ship. It really is one of my favorite combos, I've wanted one for years.

7 and 8 also look like Daltanious missles.

Ok so I did some digging for you.

The four big red missiles and the chrome triangle dart go to your battle shark.

7 looks like DX Voltes or something similar. Looks a little thin to be DX golion but its hard to tell in the pic.

8 I still think is popy/shogun nessar due to the nub on the end.

9 and 10 look like dx daltanias.

The white missile looks like KO daltanias or something similar.
