Its like an alternate-universe story based on the main character
(Koji Kabuto) who wears a Mazinger-type armor and dukes it out
with an alien menace who is threatening people on another planet.
Not really mainstream to coincide with the Mazinger timeline,
but it does contain similar references to key characters in the
Mazinger-Z anime history.
There has been a custom MazinSaga Mazinger figure made.
Other than That, there really hasn't been any toy franchise
in existence for this Mazinger character.

There was a Mazinsaga video game released for the Sega Megadrive. Which was also released in the US for the Sega Genesis. This game is extremely hard to beat.

As for toys, I don't think there's any action figure or gohkin of this one. I only remember seeing one garage kit. There might be more, but most model kits labeled as "Mazinsaga" are actually "Mazinger USA", from Nagai's US comic.
Too bad it's a bit too niche for manufacturers. I'd love to have MazinSaga's Mazinger Z duke it out with Devilman X in my collection.

Yeah, he fights to save Mars... after destroying Earth because he got pissed when his girlfriend (not Sayaka) was gangraped. Typical Go Nagai fairytale. The game changes this a bit. He's fighting to save Earth from the alien invaders. The ending sequence tells us they're fleeing our planet to take over Mars instead and Koji chases after them. If there ever was a sequel, it would take place on Mars. Or you could read the manga and consider it a sequel to the game, but you'd have to ignore the complete annihilation of all life on Earth at the hands of Koji. |

The first one is "Mazinger USA". The Volks figure is indeed from Mazinsaga. I don't remember seeing that one. But Volks figures are usually so overpriced that I probably wouldn't have bought it even if I had.
"USA" has double horns, less gems on the front, a different "breast fire" chest piece and high ankle guards.

Ah! Ok. I thought the second picture was a kit and the last one was a Volks figure, but it looks like it's actually a garage kit. What a boring pose for a model kit...

Yeppers.... those are the ones I've seen often
on the internet. I never learned who made them.
Because, honestly, I was never quite interested
in the MazinSaga.
I had always regarded it as a rip-off of the
Mazinger character.
Even though it still is one of Go Nagai's works.
That man is off the wall sometimes...
...left us with a cliff-hanger at the end
of the Shin Mazinger OVA..........
...I'll bet if he smoked a joint he wouldn't
finish the toke. ;D
