So I received a Voltes V ST in a recent shipment, and I discovered that one set of fists had a silver sticker band around them. I figured that the prior owner must have simply put that on himself because I did not recall seeing that before for this toy. Well, I just came across another example (see below) from an auction. Has anyone else seen this before on this toy? It seems highly unlikely that I would discover two such customizations in such a short time. I looked around on the web a bit, but did not really see another (but then again, most on the web seem to be in crappy condition!).

Interesting find Myles. If not custom, maybe it was a short run the factory did to mimic the white painted bands on the DX Voltes. Did you come across these on Popy or Shogun releases?

Both Popy. Both auctions originating from Japan.

I've looked at previous auctions and yes, sometimes they come with one set of fists with the silver band, sometimes all fists with no silver band. Don't know how common/rare it is, but it did happen at least occasionally. Nice score.

cool voltes variation! I notice on the Danguard Ace ST, they removed chrome for cost savings....wonder if there are areas on Voltes V that got chrome removed later....besides the silver/chrome fists.
Shogun Warriors toys tend to be stripped down later versions.
