It would probably be a tie, or a long drawn-out battle... Both super-robots and some of the sentient robots are piloted by humans = Logical thinking. The pilots would have to use all their skill to out-wit one another. That's why most of the enemy robots were so easily defeated. The enemy robots were run on programs and prime directives, therefore they cannot think for themselves no matter how automated they were. zozo-mag KIDDING! I LOVE MY TRANSFORMER BROS...hahaha Hmm seriously tho...if super robots battled sentient robots I wonder who would win. Im guessing super robots because they have some insanely powerful guys like getter. Unless there are some super powerful sentient robots I dont know of? :/

Sorry if this was asked before. Well, I would like to ask the opinion of everyone. There has been much talk on some facebook groups I'm in, some dudes insists that if you are a "true collector", you will never sell any of your stuff. Honestly for me, I believe an open-minded individual knows that this can not be the case for everyone. People runs out of space/funds/switches collection lines that's why they sell what they currently have. There is a difference between "true collectors" and "true diseased." It all depends on what are you collecting / selling and why? For example: I used to happily collect some Hot Toys figures but I sold most of them recently cuz by time I found that I am not really inserted in 'em along with other some figures + I needed some cash! But, I collected some Transformers Cybertron figures and there is NO WAY I am sellin' any of 'em. So, this makes me a true collector (knowing what I want to collect 'n keep and what I don't wanna keep).

Times change, tastes change and needs change. It is impossible for one to hold on to their entire collection all their life.

By "sentient", alluding to a "tie", I was referring to a battle between, for example, "Raideen vs Mazinger-Z". Both robots are piloted, Raideen is the sentient one. Still, it's a wit-war between Koji (MZ) and Akira (Raideen); and neither one is gonna surrender nor give up so easily. I didn't bother to mention "Getter Robo vs Mazinger-Z", because Mazinger-Z would just fall down dizzy after just watching Getter switch from 1,2,3. lol Wait, you're right... Dr.Hell's mechabeasts were "sentient": Spartan-K5 was a Fat LAZY mofo, and Minerva-X was just a crybaby skallywag Drama queen. lmao ;D zozo-mag It would probably be a tie, or a long drawn-out battle... A true collector may never sell his collection, but its nice to share if you have doubles, triples or stashes of stuff others can't get and you may have, and aren't displaying. I love collectors that display their treasures. But when they hoard stuff thats difficult to find and will only sell at peak market price to another whom will take good care of it, or would like to add that extra to his/her own collection, I feel thats just greed and hoarding. I've been talking to this guy whom states he has at least a mint case each of each Godaikin. A case each, and thats 6 to a case! And he won't sell them because "it will break up the case". But come on, you have 6 new Tetsujin-28s, Voltes Vs and Combattra's and you can't part with 1!?!? Really, not even for the right cold hard cash thrown down? I mean thats just hoarding or something. I know there is the whole joy in "hey I got a case of them and No One Else Does", but man for an item that difficult? Just sucks even when he knows I've been scouring the earth for one. The only thing I have going for me is that he is in his late 50s and I'm in my mid 30s, so I may have a shot when dementia sets in or he goes. I mean you can't really take it with you and what fun is collecting if you can't truly enjoy it, and share that joy with others. I guess I'm just a one of each collector with maybe some extra parts and I'll give ya or sell ya the rest, as I want to help you out kinda guy. I like to see my fellow collectors happy too.

Ya know what would be fun to see: a specimen that gets passed around from collector to collector in this group, and the rest of us spot that specimen showing up somewhere in pictures here where it will be recognized.
You know, like tracing that one dollar bill where it's been where it is and where it's going by following its serial number.
Like looking for Carmen Sandiego, but the difference here is we spot the same robot toy passed around... as for Carmen Sandiego, who cares, jus leave her azz out there. ;D

Yes! I mean like what Ed did with his stuff, I mean like wow! To house a few of his pieces is an honor, and it was awesome that he shared his love and joy with us all. So what if he auctioned them and we had to scuffle a bit in bidding wars, he let some go to share with others. That to me is a great collector! Someone that collects, but can share the joy to others too. And the cool thing about most of you here on RJ are pretty good in helping out others. Much love and respect to you all. I wouldn't have a few of my items without those that shared.

I hear ya, and I feel the same way as well. Many of my hauls came from other members here, and I'm still wonderstuck! I may have to let some of my stuff go sooner or later... ...as long as it goes to a good home and is appreciated, and it continues breathing life into this hobby, that's what matters. zozo-mag

This brings up a good point too. On a new listing or on the sales listing maybe guys can sell what ever, as some do, along with stuff they find or come across, like on Craigslist or eBay, or at a shop, to pass it on to interested buyers. I don't know maybe its a bad idea, but I'm currently on the hunt to complete my Godaikin collection and know people run across them all the time, and don't buy. But I want to know where they are, because I am wanting them. Maybe a wishlist section, so we can post and update a wishlist/wants to members. If they don't have it, they may know where to get it. Just an idea.

I'm finding that a true collector has a hard time getting out of "the hunt." Buying, selling, or trading your toys doesn't matter to me. I understand that the Japanese toy crowd (living in Japan) disagrees, and they may loose face.
So many toys, few toys, old, new, without funding, with funding.......the HUNT continues. The hunt is quite fun as always.
Multiples and speculation border on hoarding , LOL, or a business plan.

To me, a true collector means a collectors that never stop collecting , it may involve selling some stuff, but will never quit collecting the stuff he likes.
