Well, I have a bootleg Dangard, and saw the 50cm Aphrodite. The bootleg Dangards were quite expensive about 2 years ago, but was able to grab one last year for a decent price (around $200) when several surfaced again. The vinyl Aphrodite is kinda blah, but is unique. The custom magnet version by www.emanium.com/id2.html was pretty cool. Think someone sold one last year for a much higher price than when they were available back in the early or mid 2000s. |

I've been eyeing up Aphrodite's since I first noticed them. And you're right, the other one looked really cool. I'd grab one of those in a heartbeat, If I could find one. The Dangard I'm going back and forth with.... He's in my top 5 but really want to hold out for a popy. Either way, the price seemed high to me on both of them, especially since I'm not really happy with the Garada I just bought without ever seeing one up close.

Well, if I had a Mazinger-Z jumbo I would certainly try to go after the Aphrodai-A just to complete the lovebird pair. As for your Garada: I don't know which type you have, and I don't know its availability; but I'd hold onto it if I were you. Them Garadas don't always happen everyday.  zozo-mag |

Magengar, I got the Unifive Diamond Preview Garada K7. He's ok, and I'll hold on to him, I was just disappointed in him. I thought he would have more of an " old school" feel to him, and I think the Aphrodite is going to be the same.
Thank You Bourno, i think if I can pick one up for a couple hundred, I will, but I'll wait a while. Who knows maybe someone will come up with one of my other "wants" until then.

About 2 Summers ago, some of the Dangard bootlegs were going for $500 to $700. I was lucky to be patient and got one after the feeding frenzy.

It get's a little tough. I seen an Aphrodite go for $700 not to long a go, and a bootleg Dangard go for $600. When I see them for between $400 and $500, I get a little... "twitchie"...

If you look at the completed sales, the same Aphrodite was listed a couple times with a starting bid $299 with no takers.

Hhhhmmmm...... Thanks Bourno, that really puts things in perspective. She's nice, maybe $300 total nice, but I can wait.... Once my new bow limbs come for my Raydeen, I believe my focus is going to be Combattler and popy Dangard. I'm expanding my display case to take up an entire 12 ' wall and those three will be the center focal point. After all, they're the ones I grew up, and fell in love with.

The aphrodite is a smaller scale vinyl similar in feel to the garada..looks nice on the shelf next to Maz if your'e patient and search I found her for well under 100.but that was some years back,but even then listed as machinder they were getting 200+. I have the Emanium one as well.Nice custom piece but not vintage feeling at all.Each one definitely feels hand made. Wish I had a Boss borot to go with em.

Thanks Joweone! I think the Aphrodite is really cool looking and if one comes along cheap enough, I'll grab it. The Emanium version I would pick up first if given the chance. I do have a couple of vinyls already, besides the Garada, and I think it's the lack of gimicks. They're great looking though. And they make great fillers for the ones I'll probably never see or own.

He is styled after the vintage villains, which were also vinyl. They were different than the JMs, so you can't compare the Garada to other JMs. That is a common misconception. (Similar to joweone's sig - "Not everything big is jumbo... ") |
