Question--- Odd thought, Are the arm joints on Voltes the same as the Combattra joints? Can they be swapped to get the "Yellow Joint"?
Then..... has anyone considered machining out yellow nylon and doing an arm joint swap?
My friend is really wanting a yellow joint arm variant and it got me thinking. LMK if you see one for sale too.

Haven't seen a yellow joint for sale in the US in a while. But will keep my eyes peeled.
Not sure on the compatibility. I only have multiple Voltes and no combattra vehicles so I can't compare anything.

I apprecate the heads-up. I expect reproductions in about 4 years... LOL. But for now, I'm looking for a friend. Question- Have you ever seen a Mach Baron "mecha machine". I think that's what it is called, where the MB has a car in its foot .LMK if you see one E

Well, it was a nice thought, but the Combattra yellow elbows are about 30% narrower than Voltes. I didn't check any other dimensions in any detail because its not as easy to widen plastic as it is to narrow it! So, making a yellow elbow VV from a Combattra is a non-starter. You could maybe make a red-elbow Combattra from a VV I suppose... As for Mach Baron - do you mean the Popy GA? I'll try to add some pics to back up the above...
Scrub that - I can't upload a pic due to this Proboards app being useless on the iPhone...

Yeah photo functionality has not been working from the app since the forum update.

Oof. I had a couple iphone pics, like cybermuton up there, of the Combattler and Voltes side by side where you can see the different size and shape of the elbow joints, but , yeah, the I-app doesn't give any option that I can find, for pic linking.
Stupid. Why make an app for a known, popular phone system, and not set it up with a common feature, like getting a photo from your set? Derr. I'll try to get a pic on regular camera SD card, load to photobucket, then link on here.

Jon the app does allow it very easily but it has been messed up since the forum updated to the new version.

LoL Ed.
Well to get back on track with Voltes, I have a question regarding accessory trays. I have two godaikin Voltes V sets with different trays (one white and one black). I was trying to figure out which one came earlier.
Would it be correct to say that they transitioned in the following manner:
Popy volt in box all started with blue trays on yellow arms and as the later red arm and box variant versions came out they transitioned to black trays.
Black trays continued on with the godaikin release and then during godaikin they transitioned over to the white trays.
Right?

I'd say the trays were mostly black...then white must have been lesser produced (I'd guess late). -Just can't comment on the blue trays. I don't think I had them in my boxed sets :/
