SO f**king stoked for Wheeljack! I hope his ears light up! I pre-ordered 2 WJ's and 1 bumblebee. My body is ready!  this is simply awesome! will definitely order wheeljack. but other than that, I will be looking forward to a masterpiece jazz |

I can see Glyph, Gold Bug, and Bug Bite being made but if Takara is serious about staying true to the original car designs then Cliffjumper and Hubcap will have to wait till they get the 924/944 Porsche license. My question is if Takara will design realistic car modes or try to update the old Choro/SD look? Another thing about all these licensing talk got me thinking, these must apply to new designs because I don't remember any of this being a issue when they re-released the old G1 toys. Weren't those designs originally licensed designs? Or did Takara just design them with-out official licenses? If they were then what's the issue of getting companies like Porsche aboard since they did re-issue Jazz? Weird.

Back in the day you could get away with a lot more copyright and trademark infringement without a problem (whether you did it intentionally or unintentionally).
Now everything is about $$$ and protecting your content/property so they will sue if you don't get licensing/permission. Your own success can be eroded overnight.
There are plenty of lawyers companies can hire that will go after infringing parties and show no mercy.

True nowadays you better cross your t's and dot your i's for legitimate companies like Takara. I can understand toys made in the 80's skirting the license thing but Takara and Hasbro did re-issue the old G1 toys a few years ago so they either got the license, released with-out the licenses, or they don't apply because there old toys. The first two series has remarkably realistic car designs which were very accurate.

What do you guys think the scale will be like for BB? and is the preorder price on him accurate being on par with the other G1 characters?

The pre-order prices right now are just place holders and should change. Takara hasn't even solicited or shown prototypes yet so stores are just guessing at prices right now. It really should cost about the same as the Cassettes unless they make car scale accurate which would make Bumblebee quite a bit larger then Frenzy and Rumble and that would be a little weird.
