I probably should have shot this with him actually HOLDING his sword, but I did not think of it (or this topic) at the time. But it got me thinking - how many jumbos actually come with swords (or similar weapons)? I remember when I first started collecting many many years ago, I discovered a website talking about the Godaikins and how almost all came with giant swords, which is what took cool robot toys and made them even better! So I was wondering how many jumbos this translated into. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few - Dunbine, Voltes V, and Daimos (sort of). God Mars? What others had them? I'm not sure that Great Mazinger's should even count based on how puny it is. LOL. Tekkaman has a spear, no? Space Valour has a sword/lance kind of weapon. And on a similar line of thinking, how many came with pilots? Aside from Dunbine, I can think of Gordian and Pegas. Others? Did Dol come with a Space Sheriff (I seem to recall some photos with one, but I am not sure if it came with it)?  |

Great photo of Dunbine!! He's been on my top 10 wish list for a while, steadily made his way up into the top 6.

He's been on my top 10 wish list for a while, steadily made his way up into the top 6. U5 Gaiking?? What weapon is that? I don't recall any. Grandizer and Danguard Ace are sort of in a different category, since those are really decorations that double as weapons. What does the Getter Robo Go come with? Isn't the drill accessory just another hand attachment (like the missile firing fists)? |

Yes, on the U5 Gaiking you can remove his knee blades and put them in his hand. A bit like the chogokin version. Getter Robo Go comes with an axe and I don't remember if he also comes with a sword. I need to check that. So, yes Grendizer and Danguard have their own specific weapon that can be remove. You also have Daimos that can use his blue blade and the yellow "knifes" from his legs. Godsigma comes with a great sword. Godmarz also and he have a little pilot in his chest too. Leopaldon comes with a sword also and there's also the little spiderman figure in the cockpit. It's the same sword as with Voltes V but on that one you remove the chest piece to make the guard of the sword. For Battle Fever, I think the original sword is from Daikengo, but not sure about that one. Kamen Rider X comes with two antenna to put in his hands, pretty hard to find with it. Mach Baron have his little car to mimick the pilot from the original show as well. And you already mention Gordian with his pilot in his chest. I think that's a bit it. And for the villains, all the second serie shoot something from somewhere  |

Great Mazinger didn't have swords... they were more like Toothpics. lol It mind-boggles me that Mattel and Popy made him with them bigazz fists only to have such tiny swords! I wanna see someone make a decent sized sword for him. Even a Halloween stage-prop sword would do him justice. He will have no problems holding it up. I have the other version of that sword and my jumbo Voltron holds it up without any problems.
