Wow. That kit looks amazing. Do you do any painting on it or just straight? Love to hear your build process!

TJ, is the kit assembled straight out of the box? Did you do anything to it, paintwork and such? It looks absolutely stunning!

The darker reds are painted, and of course panel lining and finishing. Needed a new Wallpaper (well, not needed, but it was time), so did one of Sazabi. Sharing with anyone who'd like one. I gotta say...I'm not a fan of the Sinanju-style Beam Axe...like I was okay with most Ver kas since they were AESTHETICAL redesigns, but when you start messing with the loadout, I start to get a bit peeved...

Action: I'm actually ging to start doing Gundam vids soon! MG Sazabi ver. KA and RX-78 2 v3.0 using red LEDs instead of traditional green. I love it, but switching back to green for Sazabi because it doesn't feel "right" knowing what color the eye is supposed to be... if that makes sense?

Cannot wait man. Been thinking of taking on gunpla myself. Start with HG kits or 1/100 non-grades...they're a great way to get into the hobby without feeling overwhelmed. plus, they're generally cheap, so if you wanted to paint it in your own colors, it wouldn't be too much a problem if it got botched.

I have done HGUC ones and was felt left wanting. I like the size of the MG (as they are in scale with MComp). The 1/100 scale of MG appeals to me. I have done painting on my Warhammer 40k minis and the HGUC models. Still. TJ's models look so awesome.

I also like the 1/100 MG gunpla. They are just the right size.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother using HGs or non-grades as a "starting point" because even Master Grades aren't hard. They're just more complex. If the MG standard and 1/100 scale is more of what you're looking for in your collection, then there's no point in wasting your money on stuff that won't fit it.
I'm only saying this because I started with Robot Spirits, and as soon as I got into 1/100 scale I sold them all for a ton less than what I paid. It's not worth the hassle if you know where you want your collection to go in advance.
And, I agree with SSorcam. If you want a great looking kit that's surprisingly fast to build, then RX-78-2 v3 is perfect. I'm not even an RX-78 fan, but that kit is a real gem.
