Just got these guys this past weekend! And after watching some videos on YouTube I also caved and ordered the 2013 metal build of Destiny Gundam even though I'm not a big fan of Seed Destiny or Shin š¤£

I really wish it was just regular strike and not the strike rouge. When it was first shown the grand slam sword was with the regular strike gundam. Hopefully they'll release this version at some point...

Got my Metal Build Hi-Nu. While didn't get to put the whole thing together, I took out the main body to inspect as I was concerned about the paint QC issue I keep hearing people from HK were bringing up, with some samples having "pimple face" or "orange peel" texture on some parts, particularly the head/helmet. And lo and behold, I scored one once again! The QC curse continues! YAY! The joint tightness consistency is also quite off on mine. While all the joints on the main body ranged from tight to stupidly tight, they are uneven with the same joint on the left arm is tighter/looser than the right, thigh swivel is one leg tighter than the other...etc. Not quite as consistent as my other MBs and Metal Composites. A bit of a shame, as this Hi-Nu is the more anticipated MBs for me for a long while. But bad QC aside, it is indeed beautiful. It also stands about a head taller than the Metal Composite RX-78/Zaku. One interesting tidbit that I realized is as I was looking at its pimple face, it dawn on me that the head sculpt of this MB Hi-Nu is a carbon copy of the Hi-Nu in the manga! I own and read the manga a couple years ago, and I've noticed this Hi-Nu head sculpt is not the typical look you get from previous model kit variants. But it wasn't until last night when I was inspecting the orange peel, while re-reading the manga on the side, that the two is a perfect match! (the rest of the MB body is sort of its own take though, only borrow hints from the manga design) For those who don't know, Takayuki Yanase ę³ē¬ ę¬ä¹ is in charge of drawing all the mechs shots in the Beltochika's Children manga adaptation. And he is also the same artist mecha designer in Mazinger Z Infinity movie (which gave Metal Build Mazinger Z's look in toy form). Here is a direct comparison of the manga panel to my pimple face Hi-Nu (on its left side helmet, close to the cheek, you see it, but a bit blurred). Aside some perspective difference, and the exaggerated 'crown' or forehead camera on the MB, they are almost identical, down to the dots, panel lines, and that tiny side fin. Its cool to see where the inspiration came from. In the manga hi nu is color blue instead of purple?

The manga is mostly black & white. But the few color illustrations it has on the book covers, color inserts, or in magazines, Hi Nu is indeed more blue. Though I don't think there is a canon color for Hi-Nu, because it shifts from one iteration to another. Sometimes more purple, sometimes more blue.

I am worried While not 100% certain, I don't think yours is compatible, if it is the old one from around 2016. It needs to be the Alternative Strike version, as far as I know. This one. p-bandai.com/us/item/N2492454001002

And no, not another Exia. It would be another Strike, man. "Strike" while the iron is hot. ....wait a min. You are replying a message from 2013?!

Well technically, the next MB COULD be the Gurren Seiten from Code Geass IF it has an earlier release date than Devise Exia since they're both slated for release this month and Bandai said Devise Exia is dropping on the 29th.

And seems like MB Shin Getter dropped off the radar. Though probably a wise move on Bandai with CCSToys Shin 1 saturated the market (now easily found in stock in a bunch of shops), and the upcoming Black ver. coming early next year. Not to mention ThreeZero has theirs too. Did Bandai give the SOC Shin Getter 1 a release date? Or did that get an indefinite delay too?

Gosh that IS a tough call.
Iād buy super cool Infinitism MB Shin if he was 200 to 250 (at most) especially if he had a nice face. But I would reconsider at 300 with VASTLY superior CCS at similar price.(Iām going by the reviews as I donāt own one but I DO have a handful of MBs) So Yeah maybe CCS BLack Shin did scare them off. I would too run. He looks badass.
I hope Bandai didnāt give up on Shin, If They released āsource accurateā SOC Shin at the same price point SKL, itād be hard to resist for me.

I'm thinking they probably delayed the MB Shin Getter due to so many Shin Getter figures coming out, but I don't think it's been cancelled. They've made a pretty big deal about MBs taking about 2 years to produce. I was actually really surprised they got Hi Nu out so fast.

Hello. Does anyone know whether the very first flight pack for Red Frame is compatible with the latest release of CALETVWLCHES? I have the very first flight pack and someone on FB is claiming they re not compatible with each other. I am worried Came across this Chinese review video. There is some comparison of the 2 backpacks (old & new) in the middle. See if you can spot the difference, if the old version also provided the same 3 holes to slot in the Caletvwlches, and if those holes look the same size as yours. If so, there is a good chance the old can use the Caletvwlches. This is the closest I can get to answer your question. Hope it helps. Update: What I also realized, is that on Red Dragonics, the backpack needs these 3 additional "black adapter parts" (upper left corner in photo below) on the backpack before attaching the red Caletvwlches arms specifically for Red Dragonics. So would the normal Caletvwlches need those 3 black adapter parts to go onto the backpack, I don't know. The adapter seem to have a slight bigger diameter on the round hole, but I cannot confirm just by looking at the video. If required, then I suppose you can find the Ddraig Head Option Set to get those.

I preordered 3 new Caletvwlches and Ddraig Head Option Set. I just want to recreate the Red Dragon, not Red Dragonics. I believe this can work because I was told and read countless times that the first Flight Unit and the Alternative version are identical. Fingers crossed. I will find out when they arrive in a few weeks.

I was a little interested in the Red Dragon (not Dragonics) as well, but given I need to buy 3 Caletvwlches, a Flight Pack, AND the Head set, it will end up costing my more than another Metal Build. I ended up just getting the Ddraig Head Set so I can upgrade mine with the new head, and be happy with it wearing the giant arms. I imagine it will be looking like this soon (photoshopped).

I am happy to report that the latest releases of Caletvwlches and the ddraig head option set are totally compatible with the very first flight pack and body from 2016. Good news for me~~~
