Hi RJ Community,
I would like to a valkyrie in my collection.
Which 1/48 scale one do you recommend? I like the 1/48 scale because its big.
Thanks in advance.

The 1/48 is big but the 1/60's are so much more improved when it comes to the VF-1 Valks. I only own two 1/48's. A Roy Focker VF-1S and a Hikaru Ichijo VF-1J. I'd get a Roy VF-1S if I could only have one and from the second production run onwards.

The first production runs box lid has Velcro on the corners while the later ones do not. Supposedly they tweaked a few things on the later ones such as the loose canopy/nose cone falling off easily etc. They never really bothered me though as I have the first production version for Roy.

I see... I remember mine having the velcro too, so i suppose its the first production run. However, my piece seems fine, i left it on display in gerwalk mode for some time, but i rarely touch it, so who knows, i better be careful haha.

Yeah bro. Just be careful with the canopy because I read reports where in it just snaps/breaks off. All the other things are just loose but pretty much ok. Still a great toy though and I was in awe when I first read about back in 2002-2003.

The best? Easy. You didn't say model or toy...

I had the Milia for awhile with super packs. It's a good toy, but I eventually sold it to buy more 1/60's.
I think the most valuable are the weathered versions that Yamato released, and I think some of the DYRL versions are pretty nice. But I think they are all about the same when it comes to quality.

theyre all pretty much the same...except for the head and the color scheme...but my choice goes to VF1S coz im a sucker with the skull insigna and 1J coz Hikaru flew it....

That's a version 1 1/60 scale vf-1a. Not a bad toy but the version 2's are so much better. Not worth much anymore because of it. Also it's not a perfect transformation because you need to detach the legs to transform. Brand new these things go from $70 to $100.
