Can anyone please post a picture comparing Gaiking by Evolution Toy and Gaiking by Revoltech? How do the height and proportions of ET Gaiking, Revoltech Gaiking, SRC Mazinger and SRC Grendizer compare?
I really benefited this summer from reading the Board's discussions and seeing the photos to educate myself before purchasing super robots. I now have SRC Mazinger Z and SRC Grendizer. They are amazing.

If your amazed with the SRCs be prepared to be WAY let down with either of those Gaikings TRUST ME Et Gaiking is SOC sized, wrong height for SRC robots, and it sucks. The Revoltech looks very nice, but i mean its Revoltech which means articulated plastic that cant stand in a normal pose but yet you can turn it into a yoga pretzel...Get the GX-27 SOC Gaiking its on sale at Anime Export..best Gaiking for your money, the ET is basically a floppy plastic version of it sizewise..

There is a market opening for Gaiking in SRC size/style/quality.
Thank you for your helpful replies. From Gaiking and Gakeen!

I don,t know about ET toys, but Revoltechs equals don,t even think about posing it in default pose...I.e. ..a normal standing with arms down that almost every collectors pose their figures. .
due to materials and possibly the revoltech used, It just won,t do it. Love the Sculpt, but hate the toy.

Well, for me articulation is fun and it,s there when I want to pose or play with it. But I guess because of space issue or want the collection to have kind of uniform order when I display them? I don,t know if that makes sense but, I guess it could be the other way around also....Like saying most collector pose their robots in dynamic poses. I def do want to have option of my bots go back to "off mode" when I want them to....
still, In both cases, Revoltech doesn't give you that option because again, it,s nearly impossible to pose them back to default pose after you had fun of posing dynamically....then shortly the joints get loose too. NOT the revoltech joint itself, but I should say where hard ABS Revo joints peg into softer PVC "body parts"...

If Revoltech joints are made in a peg-ratchet-peg construction, does anyone make joints in a peg-socket-ball-peg construction, as substitute joints for Revoltech figures?

I believe Wave made ball and socket joints. I have some, their range of motion is very limited thou. HLJ.com may still have them. Depending on the Revoltech figure (mainly its weight), you can modify the Revoltech joints and remove their ratchets in order to allow for more poseability. The Revo joints are not easy to take apart the first time you do it, but once you see how they are put together it is a piece of cake. I took my Revoltech Mazinkaiser joints apart and dremmeled away the ratchet teeth on one side, and now I can pose the Mazinkaiser just like if it had regular friction joints. }D

However, later versions it is not as true. Some of the designs actually would hold that pose. As for Gaiking, he is pretty easy to put in a good pose that does not take up much space but fits his "character"

Well, that's good to hear than. Maybe they changed the formula.
I had Dougram and Giant Robo Revo that did that to me. So, after that, I washed my hands off Revols for good. They're still in a Ziplock baggie, in pieces...

I never had trouble getting those 2 figures into a neutral pose. I sold the former and still have the latter. You can get some of the Revoltech in a neutral pose. Not all of them, but some. However, the logic of the joints makes it more intuitive to place him into heroic anime-inspired poses. My opinion.
I don't have many Revoltech. But some I have kept because they are just too awesome. The Revoltech Gaiking is the best sculpt out there. I just wish it was about 6-tall and was a Super Robot Chogokin.

It would be the third one. The first two are not very articulated, and the last one is a "slim" type joint. The third one in your list is almost like a Revoktech joint, but without ratchets. Of course, Revoltech joints vary in size, so you would need to find out which size you actually need for a replacement. I just bought seveal packs of different sizes just to be on the safe side. }D

I will buy some of the Hobby Base ball shape joints to try with Revoltech figures.
Thank you for the helpful information!
