I am getting back in the jumbo game. I am looking for a decal set for Voltron Giant Commander. I got a set over a year ago from Willohio. They worked great, I just don't know if he is active on the boards anymore.

Actually, I will bump this again.
Does anyone know where Will is?
If he is gone, has anyone else provided voltron decals, and if not does anyone have a golion or voltron set from him unused that they can part with?

Super appreciative of your help Bowhntr66 and Mr. Ginrai! I saw Will's work for the Jumbo Machinder Golion and also his Giant Commander Voltron, and they look amazing. I will be placing an order for both versions, so I can display both side by side.
Are Will's decals pre-cut or do we have to cut them out ourselves?

If I'm not mistaken, the vinyl decals are plot-cut so you can
peel them off the vinyl sticker sheet and you're good to go.
That's my guess, maybe that's how our RJ guys do it.
Years ago I used to cut vinyl letters in a sign shop for customers
who wanted to apply the letters themselves onto their vehicles.
My boss did all the artwork and set up the plotter,
I fed the vinyl roll through the plotter and cut the letters
into the sheet and left them on the sheet.
Vinyl decals are really good. The colors are vivid and will not fade.
Take your time applying them so they'll go on smoothly without any
sudden wrinkles, trapped lumps or trapped air-bubbles.
You just gotta make sure the jumbo's surface is clean and dust-free
before you apply the decal.
You also gotta be careful not to get any air-bubbles trapped
under the decal once it goes on, cos it's hard to peel it back off
and you might ruin the vinyl material.
If you do get a small lump of air trapped underneath (air-bubble),
prick it with the point of a sharp small needle and gently
smooth the area with your finger tip.

I wonder if Willohio will ever return back to RJ. I hope everything is ok with him. I was emailing back and forth with hom a couple of weeks ago. He said that he was ok, just REALLY busy. He said he would be coming in here as soon as he could (a week or so) to check in. I did let him know that a lot of people were looking for stickers, me as well. |
