Hey everyone,
I have many of these figures and I cannot help but wonder why they do not get much love. You can get most of them cheaply (although Gravion seems to be expensive) and they are all in scale with SRC.
The GoShogun figure is awesome. I think Dancouga is the best of them all.
How many of you own them?
Is the lack of love due to the obscurity of some of the designs?

I have dancouga (original), baldios, and sasuraiger. Those are the ones I liked the best when they came out. I picked up all misb for literally nothing. Opened all of them too.

They're okay. I've got a number of them. They're kind of like less poseable and less exciting Robot Damashii's. The Macross Plus GNU's go well with Bandai's Macross Frontier Damashii's, if nothing else.

The Dancouga figure is pretty awesome. Beautiful sculpt. Nice stiff joints. Really well done. I have liked all of them. All of them have great sculpts actually. I only have Super Robot ones since I don't care about owning that scale Macross. But for Super Robots they are awesome.

I have the Gravion Zwei and the Gran Kaiser from this line. They are great MiB collectibles. The figure while in the packaging looks great. The box promo shot also looks good. But the figures themselves aren't so. The pieces don't stay on all that well. The GN-U Dou line had some kind of internal structure or something and is supposed to be highly possible. The way these figure feel, to me they are like completed plastic model kits and don't hold up that well. Parts are always popping of and just isn't solid. I actually disassemble the entire Gravion figure, it wasnt hard to put back together. I find them fiddlely, kinda frustrating to pose. They look good though And is good if you just like to have them standing around not doing much. Otherwise, have some patient when you try to get them in dynamic type poses.

Sorry you feel that way supergetterv. I really dig them. They look great next to the SRC figures. The pop off parts are easily fixed. Congrats on Gravion Zwei though. That is one I have not been able to land yet.

It kind of says something about them that HLJ still runs sales on the Macross Plus G-NU Dous from time to time... They just sort of didn't take off it seems and then the line seems to have died out. How did they compare with Revoltech?
I have a YF-19 "Valkyrie" Revoltech and sometimes though I should grab the leftover YF-22 in G-NU Dou form and have wondered if they would look good together.

So do I Baron! Which is why I wonder why people don't give them more love. I can only assume it is because they have no diecast(although neither does Robot Spirits and people buy the hell out of those) and are more obscure classic age mecha.
Personally I have loved each one I have gotten. I have only not been able to land one I wanted because it sells for ridiculous amounts. Gravion

I got the Dancouga and Dancouga Nova from this line when they were initially released (paid full price), and Sasuraiger - which I just bough for parts - on sale at HLJ.    They look awesome, and pose fairly well, as much as the armor allows it. But I do have to agree that some of the armor parts don't really stay on very securely on these figures.  }D |

The armour parts are a really easy fix though. Wouldn't you say TMZ? I always thought the inner frame would make for good custom figure making. The only thing I thought Dancouga was missing was his wings. The sculpt is awesome though. Love that the trunk is articulated.

They are alright. I've got Gravion and it's probably the best rendition of Gravion out there so far.
I think they don't get a lot of love because of the general hollow feel to them as compared to something like Figmas or Robot Spirits. But for the money they are fine figures. Maybe not super great, but they aren't crap by any means.

Don't own any Figmas but I do own some Robot Spirits. I have had a few of those feel pretty light and hollow. The Nu Gundam was one of the biggest disappointments ever

I have not landed the CMS one (lost a bidding to a fellow board member) so it holds me over and is in scale with SRC so even cooler. Have not picked up Baldios yet. I will though. |

It is on my must own list. Just have not found for a decent price. Not as bad as my other want, Gravion, but high enough I am willing to wait.
Had anyone tried using the frames for custom figures?

That's what I got the Braiger and Sasuraiger for. Unfortunately, I haven't really done anything with them yet.
