As the title said, ebay just screwed me. It was near the end of the auction, and when I entered a bid, it asked me to confirm not once, but twice!! That second confirmation (I've NEVER seen that before) lost me a few seconds and I missed the end. WTF?!?! Anyone else ever experience that?

Man, that sucks - sorry to hear. Don't recall ever been asked twice to confirm a bid. I know usually at the end I do the 1-click-bid to avoid such issues, but it's been a while for me so maybe they've changed their system now?
Hope it wasn't something too scarce.

It was! I don't mind losing an auction because I did not bid enough, but I HATE not getting to bid and losing out when I would have gone much higher than the ending price.

Similar almost happened to me today. Wasn't at home and using my ebay app, with the newer update, they moved the Confirm Bid. Instead of being right in the middle, it was in the upper right corner. I thought the page wasn't loading, and a second or two later, spotted it. I was able to get the bid in, but was afraid it wasn't. Nothing like a small panic attack when trying to last second snipe.

Man, I feel for you, that's gotta hurt worse than a kick in the cojones big time.
I haven't shopped at eBay since a few months ago (BIN sales only). As for auctions, I haven't shopped through auctions since late 2007; I can only imagine that so much has changed at eBay since then.
Hopefully you'll get a second chance at that item or an identical item in the near future.
