Are we in the Midst of an Australian swindle? I've messaged a certain seller on a certain site and received no response. His items are going for "bank". He has sold top tier items over the last few weeks equivalent to, estimated, 20K.
Feedback = zero References = none when I ask.
-Thoughts from the crew? I've stayed away .....................

His items are/were beatufiul, but with no feedback I never seriously considered them. If he got one positive from a previous sale it would certainly help. I know there's levels of protection should it fall through, but with the dollar amounts we're talking about, it wasn't worth the hassle/worry for me. I'm still waiting for his first feedback to come through.

I wanted that Mechabuton, as I miss my older one (that was in lesser condition).

Yeah, the prices were depressed, as expected, in most cases. So damn tempting, though, but must resist

I saw those as well, starting with our big green friend last week.
Not toys that I would go after myself as they are not my cup of tea, but yes, the dragon popping up caused some discussion on the jumbo board also.
It is a very long time to have an eBay ID and not buy or sell (almost 3 years) but so far the bid history looks legit (I think I only saw one repeat bidder on the past auctions). And I doubt it is the one year feedback blocking anything as far as ratings go. This just looks like there is no feedback at all.
Unfortunately if prices were lower you could maybe take a shot, but like Ed commented they were/are doing bank.
Does anyone recognize the name or the photos? Anyone run a google image search?
We don't want to see an Italy-style incident all over again...

I couldn't find these photos in my own database, so I think the photos are legit. But I had to hold back due to the zero feedback. I could go CRAZY on that Mekabuton (sorry Ed!)

Yeah, still watching for feedback. I threw some "reasonable/cautious" high bids in on SG-01 and Zambot, based on conditions, but expected, and did, get blown out of the water.
Could be legit, even with all the warning signs. Like most, been down this road, and would NEVER allow any namby-ing around with slow shipping or whatever, before starting dispute well within the 30 day time frame. Especially as the listings' high shipping charges are actually about correct for big boxed items, overseas, airmail.

well my big concern is that two questions were ignored. I can buy the idea of "I've never used ebay before." BUT, I need someone to answer questions.....

P.S. Has anyone had a response from bidder questions?

If anyone wants me to ask specific questions about any items, I will send a message and if he replies I will post it here.
I doubt I will buy any of his items, so if I get blocked and he actually is legit for some reason, you guys will still be in the clear to bid.
I agree with you Ed, the guy may not have references but he should be able to answer questions.

I got my question answered. $120 for EMS shipping on the Mekabuton to Canada. I stop following the auction after that.

It should be like 20-40 max before insurance...I have had items that are literally tanks (I mean very heavy weight) shipped for like $60-70 insured...much bigger than the mekabuton.

So it seems they were not a scam. Couple of positives received and he's left 4 feedback. Some very good deals to be had. Congrats to anyone who gambled and won

I am not familiar with the market rate for these but I had the impression Goshogun was a tad expensive? I thought Zambot Dx, well the winner must be pretty happy, right?

Does anyone know or at least recognize any of the winners? That would be more solid evidence that it was not a scam.

can we still track who won what item? winners id are partially masked and feedbacks have no information on price and item description. ebay is quite a pain these days!
