I saw these a few months ago and was going to bid. I live in Miami Fl as well as him. I asked if I could see one in person or at least pick it up in person if I won to save $17 but he refused. Whats it like? Hollow or solid? Heavy? How many pieces?

Those look really nice.
As for that vendor, I had just now looked him up at eBay... ..I was checking out items he has listed for sale... ...something about the images he's using in his auctions, especially the repro missiles pics... they look familiar. I hope I'm wrong.

I would buy one if he would just set a price instead of the eBay free for all.

I definitely hope to bring one home (and I live local as well). But I don't understand why people are bidding ALL of them up already. There are so many listed at once now. Just go after one. Why drive the price up on every single listing? It boggles my mind. I guess people just want to throw their money away, or they are trying to buy every one at one time.

I find it odd and interesting that they're all "private listings" so you can't see who is bidding and they're all bid up to the same amount. I saw these a few months ago and was going to bid. anyone else in this board have purchase a repro scrander from the_black_major ( ebay seller ) the craftsmanship are amazing , I bought 3 a while back but now he has me blocked for some reason ? hopefully he reads this and un-blocks me or at least answer his emails ( I need 3 more plz ) I don't think John appreciated you showing photos of the first ones that he sold to you privately, before he was ready to show or list them publicly himself. When I talked with him on the first ones he sold on ebay, I don't think he knew what a good going price would be and I have done the same thing on some of my earlier repro parts to see what the market would pay. In his case, each of the first three listed, went up in price. So, I don't blame him one bit for listing the next ones via bidding and not Buy It Now. If the demand would flatten, then could get a good buy, but looks like we have a decent size interested group on the newer listed wings. I have bought some of his missiles in the past, and they were very good quality and looking at the photos, these items look nice as well. Best on bidding and winning guys.

Is Black Major a board member? And if it is a fellow board member that has all the equal high bids on all of these wings and you're reading this thread then I got news for you pal, you'll be losing one of those auctions because one of these bad boys is gonna be mine! =

I'd be highly interested in one but I'm waiting on them to flatten out again. I can wait for a BIN at a later date. Good luck guys!! Maybe if somone here wins one, we can get bourno to start making them for us?

He did contact me about the issue that you are referring and I did apologize about sharing those photos here in this forum with you guys , if anything I was more promoting his work than anything else ( I dont see whats the big deal )I was also very happy about my acquisition like any other collector would be to me was water under the bridge now lets move on. I concur the missiles are top quality , but what can you expect they are factory fabricated like all the stuff he sells. Now can I get un-blocked ? or should I open a new ebay account (j/k)

About reproduction, what I would be willing to find one day, it's a reproduction of the heads of Robo Kress, Bull Ceasar, Sandaio, Boss Palder, from the Mattel line. Maybe with a 3D printer, for those who like making customs (like me), from spare parts of Goldorak and Raydeen building again these rares Jumbos.

I'd also like someone to make repro heads. I've quite a few extra shoguns I'd make customs with if I had heads!!!

... I thought this was the Jet Scrander for the Mazinger Z jumbo. Turns out it was the Scramble Dash for Great Mazinger instead. Come on guys! Why do you wanna get my hopes up like that! }D

TheMazingerZ: Maybe if we are lucky he will make that one next. I know I would buy one and I'll bet there would be a market for them like the this one.

I can't help but wonder why a single person would want so many of them. IF any single person is trying to gather several of them all at once. To re-sell them for profit later on? Perhaps that's a radical conclusion I've jumped to. It's kinda like when folks buy up excess quantities of happy-meal toys of a movie franchise toy item from MickeyD's; but here on a larger scale at eBay, with a Collectors' grade product in this hobby genre. And that often does happen... like when someone drives the price up to "lock" several of them and buy them all at once? Just guessing. zozo-mag I definitely hope to bring one home (and I live local as well). But I don't understand why people are bidding ALL of them up already. There are so many listed at once now. When he had the BIN good prices, I did buy a few extras to have/hold in case they went away in the future and could help out fellow collectors.
Some of the earlier bidding, was most likely people interested in getting more than one and at the time didn't know how many would be made or the seller's special pricing to come.

Yes, making custom of Jumbo head could be a great idea, we can find now many missiles customs for sale, that's good, but I can imagine some Villains from Goldorak, Mazinger Z heads for customs réalisations. And with body parts of Goldorak and Raydeen, that's possible to make 4 Jumbos from Mattel (The italian Mattel Astro). Another dream is a Jumbo head of Boss Robot, because that's possible to make a custom, I made one Boss Borot myself, but I will be happy to find a professionnal head. I hope one day a guy with a 3D machine can make some repro heads.

I'm anxiously awaiting the application of 3D printing for Jumbo customization and replacement parts. I've even started playing around with 3D models that I'd like to try printing through a site like shapeways (assuming I can get them accurate enough, etc.). Once printers become more available and cheaper, it's really going to open up a new world of possibilities for vintage toy repair/customization.
On the subject of the Black Major's Jet Scrander repro, for anyone who is curious and hasn't picked one up -- they're AMAZINGLY well done. Honestly, I was assuming it would be a little rough around the edges, like most repros are, but these are just extraordinary and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I picked up one during his $40 'holiday sale' for my Mattel Mazinga, and I gotta say it is an amazing thing at an amazing price.
