Not sure how I missed this. But its funny I just found it. I just posted about these in the modern forum this morning. robotjapan.proboards.com/thread/22131/where-bad-guys-villian-mechs?page=1&scrollTo=318019There probably is not much overlap between the boards, though. I am probably one of the few who collect vinyls, diecast, and Jumbos. Anyway, as to your initial question, I have been aware of these since they were first issued, but I have not yet made the leap. I was tempted to snag that Maz and scrander set you posted, but the price tag and other pressing desires always bumped it. There is at least one other Mazinger version out there. And they more recently issued some other super robots, such as Jeeg and Grendizer. They also made some Tokusatsu heroes (such as Kamen Rider and Kikaida), Devilman, and Tigermask figures (and villains). Its great that these are seeing the light of day. I only own one of all of these - a Tigermask villain named Skullstar. www.cool-japon.com/new-genuine-the-skull-star-tiger-mask-soft-series-medicom-toy-rare-from-japan/I have yet to open the package, so I can't really comment on it. Looks nice enough, but it just seems "different" in vibe from the vintage (although its probably identical - I am just used to seeing it without the cape and sash).
