Won this item the other week. www.ebay.com/itm/321270821758Figured I should get one of these finally. First jumbo bad bad guy, well besides my Transformer StarScream, and not sure where to lump if Godzilla and Battinger are "bad" guys or not The item itself arrived fine, but quite a bit of disappointment on how the seller just wrapped the box in clear plastic and slapped postage and a Fragile sticker on it. Am glad I am not a big box collector or would have been most likely pretty pissed. The front side is fine and any marks seem consistent with the single photo on the ebay listing. The sides got crushed a good bit. No other shots in the listing to see what they did or didn't look like beforehand. Would have thought the seller would have boxed it, but I can see where they figured the toy was already boxed, so why box it again. Just irritated some, and needed to vent. Plan to wait a day or so and decide what kind of feedback or message to the seller. Most likely "neutral" as not happy, but not overly irritated either. I told my daughter that she could wrap it up for my Christmas present if she wanted to.

Got a message that the forum is out of attachment space, so loaded a photo to my own web site and attached it here.
Time to go play with some silicone.

I would still complain nicely and ask for a portion of money to be refunded. You can say you are a collector and/or that this was a gift, both of which are true. The holiday season itself is a reason for the seller not to skimp on packaging.

Same thing happened to me a while back with a boxed Mattel Daimos. The only reason I bought the damn thing was because the box was in such great shape. Foolish seller just wrapped it in paper with no protection and of course the box got beat to s$%t and was worthless to me upon arrival. I left him negative feedback but it didn't make me feel any better.
Most sellers take the time to package carefully but some are just plain idiots that think purely about making as much $$ as possible on each sale. I'm not a huge seller, but when I sell I pay the UPS store to package it up perfect because the collector in me takes priority over the entrepreneur in me!!
I feel your pain Bourno and as you said, luckily you're not a big box collector and if any box was going to be damaged, I'd go with the non-descript U5 Garada box....that has to be the plainest box out of all the JM's I've seen.

I think it is a nice piece. The vinyl must be quite thick, it is solid, and hard. You have to squeeze hard to make it slightly move. Being vinyl doesn't detract me at all. I never watched the cartoons when I was young, as never available where I grew up. It just doesn't have the "machinder" aurora/look to me, so guess that is my biggest factor for not being that overly interested whether I got one or not. I think being displayed like Mike did with his Villains by themselves, it/they would blend together for a more harmonious look. My Garada is on the bookcase next to the rest of them, lol. Kinda like being out on Misfit Island from the classic Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer Overall, I think the quality of it was well done. While I have my HighDream Grendizer with the rest, it sticks a little, but the huge Garada head makes it more so.

The one I got came in the actual box shipped as well. I was surprised they did that...and even more surprised it showed up pristine.

That plastic wrapped brown cardboard box kind of reminds me of how some JC Penney wish-book items arrived, back when I was a kid. Remember those days?
But I've had items that I've ordered specifically for the box show up in brown paper or in one of those flimsy USPS mailing envelopes. Drove me nuts. After those times, now I specifically tell the seller to pack in a box, if I want the package to arrive safe.

I caved in and bought one because I was always looking at them so figured I would buy one so I could stop looking and have one to display. Have it displayed with rodan and godzilla in front of some jumbos. Worked out pretty well since they are a bit shorter and look pretty good together. Garada still stands out but all in all im happy to have it. Mine did come boxed in another box so I was happy about that . I am so out of room I cannot fit one more jumbo into my collection so probably will be selling off some dupes to make room for different jumbos. Stepping more into the big money realm of these big robots now. Little scared about that.
