Are there any actual reviews of this thing anywhere?

Good find Tetsuryu, there is a sort-of review in that italian thread, in the next page. Let me translate a bit for ya: "Bad things
- it does NOT match the quality of the SoC GX-40, nor any other SoC.
- metal content is limited to the magnetic spheres.
- once assembled, it is as tall as the GX-01 or GX-02.
- the arms of the single robots do not have elbows, they're a single piece from the shoulders to the wrists.
- the feet of the single robots are attached to each other, they can be separated by just a few millimetres.
- the combination is a tedious process of attaching/removing plastic parts and magnetic spheres to and from the robot.
- bad body widening system: Godmars arms are attached to two opening side panels... but here they're just bent and hidden behind the back, nothing blocks them once they're in position.
- plastic trays bigger than the box which contains them... they needed duct tape to close it.
Good things
- it has more poseability than the GX-40. Once combined, Godmars is well articulated and many interesting poses are possible... the same can't be said for the single robots.
- sculpt is better than expected, the figures have some nice details."The reviewer said that he collects ET models, so this figure is fine for him. But added that it would be better for ET to not try making other combiners: "Don't expect Daikengo to be any better... I'm afraid you'll be 100% disappointed."Sorry Baron

Sounds like I'd rather just have a non-combining God Mars if I wanted one that was more posable than the GX-40. Sounds like the issue with the smaller bots and the combination don't make it worth having it as a combiner to begin with.

"Don't expect Daikengo to be any better... I'm afraid you'll be 100% disappointed."Sorry Baron i think when it comes to ET toys,, its a hit or miss thing. This God Mars release is a BIG no no from start, coz of the high expectations when theres already an outstanding, well-loved SOC Godmars by Bandai thats been released. Looking at the promo pics back then.. u can already tell that it will gonna be a disaster lol. i have a recently released Big Dai X combiner from ET,, and in my own opinion,, its a good, nice and proper representation.. and has little parts swapping. although my only complain is that it doesnt have enough diecast... but its a given and we already know that its ET's weakness. oh im pretty sure biggie Daikengo fan Baron will be happy... judging from these pics.. its looks good enough. www.toysdaily.com/discuz/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=228297&extra=page%3D1

No prob Baron,, been waiting for this for months since it was first announced.. and hopefully the supplier's right, said it will arrive next month. really looks good.. and judging from the pics of the included parts, it has minimal parts swapping. although my only gripe is that its small compared to Tryder G7,, and may have a very noticeable size difference when these two are posed side by side.

Still... your old reliable SOC Godmars rules. perhaps the only redeeming factor.. it has nice proportion and almost limitless articulation.. that which u can also get with the upcoming SRC Godmars,, plus it contains diecast...
