1) Have you bought a toy that wasn't all that great solely because of how it was presented in the show?
2) Have you bought a toy just because of the design alone even though you thought the show was terrible?
Both questions also entail "which one", naturally.

I bought a Revoltech Dangaioh, because I was attracted to the design of the robot; I bought it from an RJ member a few years back. Although I'm more of a classic super-robot fan ( Mazinger, Raideen, and Tetsujin28) there was something about the Revoltech Dangaioh figure that made me Want it. I still have it, and I still play with it once in a while. I had never seen its anime until recently, watching the three-episode OVA... ...it left me wanting more, and I was not impressed with how that OVA ended. If Dangaioh ever had an original episodic anime series, I completely missed it. As for the robot character itself, I'm only familiar with it through the Revoltech toy line. Dangaioh has also appeared in the S.H.E. (Studio Half Eye) toy line, but I never jumped on it. Therefore, Dangaioh will be one of those singular robots I'll be stuck with in the form of the Revoltech figure. zozo-mag |

Perhaps I should've been more specific, something you bought AFTER watching the show.
Okay, I got the Victory Saber from Takara's Robot Masters (Transformers) subline and only then watched Victory only to discover it was a terrible show and Star Saber is a lame character - but you know, if they reissued the original toy, I'd still buy it.
