Huh, so much for that. Well, at least it's out now, that's what matters. I've taken out mine and assembled it, and.. I do like the figure. It is not perfect (but then again, which figure really is perfect?), but I can tolerate the little imperfections. There's like.. little paint chips on the red parts of the chest, kind of like what Anubis had, but even less noticeable (so I can live with that for the time being). And.. a microscopic darker-green smudge on Jeeg's head, so tiny you have to get within 2 inches of the figure to even tell that it's there. So yeah, as far as paint apps go, let's say I'm satisfied. So here are some pics: The box came wrapped in a nice clear plastic sheet, to avoid scratches I presume. Everything in the styrofoam tray is protected by individual plastic baggies. The base and support stands are located under the tray: There's however a small flaw which bugs me more than the others: a gap between the knee and the right leg. You know how this Jeeg's knees are ratcheted, right? To allow him to bend the legs properly when doing a kneeling pose, for instance. Well, the left knee is fine, but the ratchet in the right knee doesn't go all the way "up", and leaves a noticeable gap between the magnetic ball and the lower leg: Though maybe not all hope is lost. I'm asking you guys: would it be safe to open the lower leg to see if this ratchet issue is fixable? The lower leg is diecast and it has a screw, so by being careful one might be able to split it and then reattach the two halves without damaging anything, right? Maybe by moving the whole ratchet assembly a bit I could solve this problem. What do you think?

If you bought it from a local shop, you could ask for a replacement part. It will be a lot cheaper and easier than trying to fix it by yourself.

congrats on your lovely jeeg fig.
lot of us including myself do a home surgery for one reason or another. just bcareful with the screwdriver tip when youre opening the leg. its almost immpossible not to scartch the screwhole walls when youre working to screw it open. i opened CMs Jeeg, CMs Grendy and many many SOCs and SRCs.
id do it.

Mhm two opposite but equally good suggestions.. what to do... Well, I guess I could go back to the shop tomorrow, I could take Jeeg's lower right leg with me, show the assistant the problem and ask for a replacement piece. Might as well try it. And if he, for whatever reason, tells me that I can't get a new one, then I'll just take a screwdriver and see what's wrong. I'll let you know guys. Thanks for the answers

While I do love to open up my figures, I have to say that I would just take it back to the local store for a replacement. IF something goes wrong while disassembling it, like a scratch or stripped screw, it will hurt a lot more than just going to the shop and getting a new one. }D

Went to the store, the guy said he'll ask the supplier for a replacement piece, and to come back in a few days.
Let's hope this one won't have problems *fingers crossed*

Went at the shop today to get my replacement piece it's perfect, there's no gap between the knee-ball and the leg now. Didn't take too long, just a week. Also, those Jeegs sold so fast that the shop got 20-or-so more, hehe. Too bad they took my imperfect leg away, no robot anatomy for me... oh well.

Congrats. That reflects great Customer Service both from the shop and the manufacturer.
I still can't look at this guy without wondering why Baron Karza is decked out for Carnivale in Rio? Yeah my "American Child of the 70's" is showing. Sigh.

Can I ask you guys a question? You know the part that comes with this set, that allows you to attach the Mach Drills to Jeeg's back? That small backpack-looking thing? Well.. where does it appear in the show(s)? Cause I've just finished watching the classic 1975 cartoon, no trace of that thing at all. Up till the very end Jeeg always swapped the drills with its forearms when he used them. I've never seen the back attachment. Never. So.. is it a Shin Jeeg thing? Or.. what?

Oh yeah, that recolor.. what, they tried to make it look like the anime Jeeg? Yellow mixed with orange instead of full bright yellow?
How nice of them. Honestly though, it is just a limited recolor, which doesn't even change the color palette that much (although it makes Jeeg look closer to his anime incarnation) and it costs quite a lot more than the regular release too.
Pass. The standard is good enough for me.
