noob question here, what's better about this jeeg, than the SOC jeeg? the SOC looks pretty awesome, and I've read some favorable reviews about it too.

Bandai never made an SoC Kotetsu Jeeg, only a Kotetsushin Jeeg, which is the remake version of the robot, not the classic one. Also, I don't know which reviews you read, but... pretty much all the ones I checked out said that the SoC Jeeg had terrible swivel joints (not the magnetic ones, only the swivels) and as a result, the figure can't even stand on its own most of the time, unless you pose it in a neutral way, with no extra accesories attached. Articulation-wise, the SoC Jeeg was a failure, one of the worst SoCs in that respect. |

Different character / different Jeeg 2. SOC Koutetsushin Jeeg had some weight/stability issues. We don't know if the ZPro will do as well or not 3. The SOC is more affordable (or at least was), and more readily available outside Europe. }D |

I can't wait to get this. This is the Jeeg I always wanted! Granted, it's not anime acurate, but I like these proportions better. Jeeg was an agile hand-to-hand fighter. The sleeker body fits better with that. Plus I like robots with human proportions better.
Most importantly, it has proper elbow joints and the shins look great. CM's has that horrible square joint at the bicep and looking at some pictures, it seems both figures have the same elbow range anyway. Plus the front of the lower leg looks like it has a second set of calfs there. Waiting for this is going to be agony. I really hope the quality is there. Just got my Big Shooter. A small mod and it will be ready to display along Jeeg!

Looking much better than the CMS version if you ask me.
Chest proportions look better. Like the manga colors better. The popeye forearms on the CMS look just ridiculous! The yellow sections on the forearms look awful. The hands look like they are floating rather than attached to the CMS version.
Those chromed plates in front of the knee magnet make no sense. The lower legs are just terrible! they look bloated at the top. Like the calf is just one huge part that goes all around the upper leg. The ankle joint is also terrible. The ankle is actually wider than the foot! WTF?
Granted the colors and overall proportions of the CMS are closer to the anime counterpart but the ZPRO seems to excel on all other aspects. I also just noticed the CMS has a "puckered" face with thin slit eyes. The face on the ZPRO looks better overall. At least in the pic above |

At least in the pic above All good points, and thanks for the side by side comparison, but I like the CM's Jeeg better. To each its own, I guess.  And best of all, the CM's Jeeg re-issue will probably be out long before this one is released for the first time.     |
