I think I have him figured out. I want him to look more like the classic jumbo and a little less like the other toys I've seen of him.

Just make sure the head is kind of blocky. Luckily a Mazinger of Grendizer could be used for the base body with a custom chest wing.

Yeah, we've been talking about using a Great Mazinga head off of an old Mattel for the base. That way we're sure it will be pliable enough to fit into a body.

using Mazinger z and Gaikings heads would work great...the 2 red spikes look to be the size and shape of the one one Gaiking ?? am I right about that ? One of my threads has pictures of a custom head I was working on, it was the bad guy from Starvengers ( US title) his name is Unicorn, he has one huge horn in the front and 2 small ones /one on each side...what I have would be a great start on sculpting yours !!!maybe I'll dig out the pix, and post them for ya Good luck, and please post pix of all the progress..... imageshack.com/a/img404/6400/sdc11577j.jpgimageshack.com/a/img835/9017/sdc12423i.jpg

I don't think he'll be able to use much else besides the neck. The main spikes on the sides are a little too thick for Mazinger Z. And I believe the red "horns" are pretty unique to this character. Whatever he decides, I'm very sure I'll be happy with it. I have all the faith in the world in him and he keeps impressing me with every piece I get from him!

For future reference, hang the jumbo Gaiking head upside-down on a stick, hang it low enough so that only his red mohawk horn and part of his scalp is inside a small mold box... ...then, pour your silicone mold mix into the mold box to create a one-piece open mold for that horn. Some of the scalp will also get captured into the mold... ( I call this hanging method the "dip-cast" technique) ...After the mold is cured, go ahead and pour your resin mixture into the mold and let it cure to form the horn (and part of the head scalp with it)... ...take the cured horn out of the mold, and carefully grind away some of the head scalp, leaving just the horn... BOOM! Now you'll have a horn or a "fang" that you can duplicate and make some custom horns and fangs for your jumbos. zozo-mag

With all this talk about Gaiking, I though that I would share this (not mine BTW). This is a Korean Super Robot called Iron Man 007, which in the anime is piloted by the Gatchman team minus the fat guy. I do not know if this was an actual released toy or just custom made, but it looks like they used a Great Mazinger body to make it.
