I'm VERY impressed! I like everything about it, it reminds me of those bots from the movie "I Robot".
We can bet that thing there is gonna be very expensive, but it's also gonna look good on the shelf.

What are you supposed to do with it? Can you use it as a base body for 1/6 figures? If not I dont see the point.it doesnt fit any group or collection demographic. Its just kind of there.Impressive but redundant.Unless as i said they use it as an innovative base body for 1/6 figures.
Edit: ok they will be using it for 1/6 but they will have to be specific to this body,so stuff from other comapnies liek heads etc wont fit it?They willl have to make a ton of stuff for this body for it to sell well then.

Some 1/6 body bases come with separate accessories such as clothing, and lately synthetic rubber skin suits of different human skin color tones. 1/6 heads from other companies, and custom 1/6 heads, should be able to fit this body model... IF the ball-socket joints are compatible. To some folks who are into making custom figures and modifying them, they don't care what parts they use as long as they can frankenstein it to fit the body base; like mashing Hot Toys figures with Joe parts, etc. And then there are some folks who would prefer to keep the body base consistent with parts made exclusively for it, for an authentic action figure from its particular toy line; as well as to maintain its structural integrity. Some manufacturers are pretty tight about cross-compatibility between 1/6 figures of different toy lines, and so they would rather that you use parts exclusively made for the item. This item is fairly new. What we're looking at here could either be a finished prototype, or an unpainted prototype.... ...or, perhaps it's a Sci-Fi style that pays homage to the Cyborg genre. zozo-mag

I hear ya. Between WW2 and the Reagan years there have been 1/6 figures made in the likeness and imagery of many historic political people. Some of those figures were so taboo they could have been out-right banned from the U.S; while other figures had slipped under the radar. Public opinion was very strong and tense during those eras, and some of those figures reflect the topics of their time. zozo-mag

Wow. I feel like a Goon, Southpawdragon. Didn't even see this thread! My apologies! Preorders are LIVE! Just got one myself. Shipping to the US was $17usd making the final figure cost $137. Not bad for this. I'm hoping the quality lives up. But it looks like the toy wizards are Sen-Ti-Nel are behind this so I have faith! EDIT: I mistakenly thought this was a random figure as well (although it would have been cool either way with me). This figure is actually based on the "synthetic Human" cyborg characters from the manga Biomega by Tsutomu Nihei. It's awesome - *see cyberpunk, post apocalyptic, zombie, horror sci-fi-action.* Just spreading some knowledge.

I think its cool. It would make for some good figure drawing modeling. BOOM! I'm right there with ya on that one! I've got a couple of the typical wooden artist mannequins that won't hold a pose even if you threaten to drop 'em inside a Chipper! lol If you have the wooden mannequins, then you know how that goes. These 1/6 figures look anatomically-correct, while they have that cool "Ghost In The Shell" cyber look about them that is so intriguing. zozo-mag

The web's already buzzing about customizing as well. There are several influences that this would lend itself to. Still, I'd encourage folks to read at least the first vol of the manga for some context. While it's nice to have a $120 artist mannequin you really can't beat that source material. This dude can draw I tell you!

I grabbed one. Looking forward to it. I hope they make the bike from the series I've read up to collection 4. Pretty good. Story wise it starts to unravel into a mish-mash of anime ideas, but the art is boss. Love the gritty horror angle and I love how creepy this thing is. Looks like a piece of art.
