Hi, I am heading to Manila in May 2014 and just wondering if there are any places I can go to look for a Popy Voltes V? Or would I get a better deal if I fly to hongkong and search there? Any places you guys would recommend in either philippines or hongkong? Also, about how much is the usual going price for a mint voltes? I prefer the old popy individual boxes but will not mind the Godaikin one if there is a severe price difference. Thanks again for the help.

Even the bad looking specimens already cost an arm and a leg. I miss the old greenhills, the renovation took out the charm of the place for me.

It's Virramall that got renovated after it almost burned, though I don't remember when it happened. It's usually Virramall in Greenhills that most of us collectors and toyhunters go to to. Even my usual eating places aren't there anymore like Bread Connection. I've been going there since the 80's and I really prefer the old architecture.

Lol, the 80's Greenhills was a toy paradise in my youth During those times it was riddled with japanese toys and I usually pester my dad to go there on the weekends. I also remember attending a huge toy convention in PICC where I first saw the die cast Voltron toy. That was the happiest decade in my life

i remember Philcite every xmas they have a tiange and a bazaar inside the complex. it was the hype of Macross and Transformers toys. my mom would give us like P50 Php each to spend inside the complex. i saw a Macross 1/100 i think (not sure abt the scale), but it was cheap think it was like P50 only, i didnt buy it, instead i bought a transforming jet watch which broke like after a month, until this day how i wish i have bought that Macross fig i saw or even an SDF before....hay those were the 80's days ...government was "restored" by a democratic revolution and next thing you know...hell broke loose...unto to this day the country is still a struggling nation....too bad!!!
sorry to be OT....
anyhow...i used to envy one of my cousins when we where young...he used to have the DX Voltes V version....lucky him....too bad he's not much into this hobby....

Guys, Hi. Thanks for the response. I remember the PICC toy fare during mid 80s and seeing Godaikins all over the place. Unfortunately, we moved to Canada in 87 and I focused on my northamerican hobby consisting mostly of comic books. I guess I might need to go to HK and bug my friend to go to the toy hunting with me .

I also forgot to mention that I was a big fan of toy shopping in greehills, kartimar and Ali mall. I recall there was lots of north american and japanese toys...toy heaven but too expensive for my parents to afford.

I think I might also just spend the extra cash and go to HK and look for it; or just buy the new fewture getter in manila (if available at a reasonable price). Thanks again.

Hi, Weather here varies; at one point in time, I recall experiencing all the different weather in one day: hot in am; raining in afternoon; hail after; colder in evening, full blown blizzard at night. Winter varies year to year (from brown winter to non-stop snow). We do get the regular chinooks which warms up the winter. Pretty expensive to live here now. Average housing price is bout 400k for a 1200sq foot house. Jobs are a bit tougher to find.
