That looks like a real nice one. There are cheaper, but probably not quite such pristine ones, and there are dearer ones too, so money wise I'd say you did just fine. Like with any investment grade thing, of course the best time to buy one is ten years ago, but the second best time is today, so give it another year or two and the sting of the price will have significantly diminished. I remember paying $600 for mine about 10 years ago, and feeling sick at the cost for weeks... The most fun part of your new one is going to be trying to get the missiles and repair bots to stand up inside their blister pack without opening it.

I sold off a decent collection 10 yrs ago.I had all but three of the main 10, T 28 and Combattra were among the three and a voltes was snagged at customs. All were duplicate in Japanese and Godaikin boxes. I sold an off the shelf new Popy Golion for 600 bucks I have yet to find such a nice piece. Back then the t28 were going for around 1000-1200 on ebay so with prices going up I figured I better get one now.

I figured the same thing. I paid a little bit more a few months ago to pick one up as well.

Nice grab. Have fun displaying it, or taking it out of its tomb

You did good by scoring it Now while the Gettin It is good, for what that specimen is. Those deals don't happen every day. The Godaikin figures are in a class by themselves, and every time I see that box-art I instantly reminisce back to the early '80s when I used to see figures such as the godaikin Gardian displayed in storefront windows. Congrats on your new score! zozo-mag

Gardian is on my list to recapture soon. The auction for this t28 wasn2 hrs old with a make an offer available. I made an offer then quickly hit the buy it now. I got scared someone else would grab it while I waited. I have a cool display idea for this guy kinda the central focus of the collection in stand alone case with 2 other shelves waiting for the Japanese version and the French version.

That must've been a pretty tense moment for you. The "make an offer" must be some kind of new option at eBay, at least it's new to me... by the looks of it, it seems like there's still the chance of being out-bidden if someone else jumps in with a higher offer, correct? Because if that is so, you happened upon a very good deal in such a timely manner... like being at the right place/right time! zozo-mag

Make an offer has been on ebay for at least 6 years Magengar LOL. I realize that. But since I last shopped on eBay almost four summers ago for robot toys (and then again last summer for a IDE-SATA adapter) I had never encountered the MAO option. zozo-mag

Yep I sat there for about a minute thinking about what could happen while I waited for my offer to even be seen. As I was telling my girl about the toy I hit the buy it now and left me shop saying I had just bought it for 1800.00 so I better make some money.. She still thinks I paid 1800.00 I was gonna get that Mazinger DX but this has put him on hold for quite a while

I would love to have a Popy Golion in that condition, but I couldn't stomach spending that much for one. I hardly ever see them on Ebay...only once, actually...I think it was around $600 for one in pretty mediocre condition with pieces missing.

Ive got two very nice Japanese Golions but they cost me over $1400.00 each. One is new but the box isn't as nice as the one I sold in 2003. So anyway here are some pics of the T28. Very Very nice piece the chrome is scuffed a bit from resting against the cello and a piece of the styro is broken off around the right hand but this thing is almost perfect. I can barely get it out of the styrofoam so its only come out once for these photos. That is a big boy!!! Nice photos! Looks like a great piece.
