His shoulders are the shampoo bottle plastic, his torso, forearms and legs are a hard (but not cheap or brittle feeling) plastic. His head, the fists and the feat are a very nice feeling quality vinyl. Sorry I still haven't had a chance to take some pics but I'm off the next few days so I'll try to get some posted.

Hooray for Shampoo bottle plastic, this is the best description ever. Got to steal it for personal use in the future.

Thanks for the info. I might take the leap. Still waiting for my BBTS Boba Fett Jumbos on preorder to come in. Then I'll consider this. I really like the way it looks but Super 7/ Funko captured that "Jumbo feel" aesthetic better. This Voltron looks great but almost too dynamic to be displayed with Classic true jumbos. Super 7's Stormtrooper and from the looks of him their Boba Fett fit perfectly. The static pose in shampoo bottle poly. True labors of love.

Well MazinkaiserSKL666, Its the Star Wars Celebration Kenner color version. He's pretty nice. The packaging is pretty slick with the outer villain style cardboard box and then inside that is a more traditional full color jumbo style package. They come with 2 small firing missiles (although there are storage slots for 4)and the big red missile in the jet pack fires also. Its a mix of the blow molded plastic and vinyl. Unfortunately all of the places the stickers are meant to be placed are vinyl so they really don't stick well, especially the chest and shoulder emblems as they are just old school paper stickers so there is no way to apply them without them creasing/krinkling because of the curvature. The belly sticker adheres a little better since its foil but one corner has still come up. The feat are weighted to much for my liking which makes him quite heavy (hard to play with him flying around my living room) but is actually nice for display as he wont fall over easy. If I didn't have this version I would definitely pick up the wide release "Empire" colorway as it is a really nice modern jumbo and from the looks of it the normal release one has the chest and shoulder emblem painted on.

Is he drastically taller in real life? I keep seeing him next to Mazinga and thinking Boba is just way too tall.

Boba and the ST are both taller than Voltron or Maz. They're proportions are just much bigger in general than Maz. That's what I meant by Voltron looking like a much better fit with Mazinger. They have super robot proportions while the SW Jumbos have human in suit proportions.

The shoulder connection point on my Jumbo Voltron to the Red Lion arm is very loose. It cannot hold a pose at all due to being loose. I wrote Toynami for a solution/exchange, and this was the response I received: Just in case the graphic doesn't show up for some, Toynami wrote: " Hi Michael, we are sorry to hear about the loose arm. We are working on a solution so that you will not have to go through the trouble of shipping the Jumbo Voltron back. Our main repair tech is out of the office this week, so we will get back to you as soon as we can."I'm super curious what the tech will come with as a solution.

I will prob never buy Toynami again.

I was pretty disappointed as well and am super turned off with my purchase as well.

I emailed & facebooked Toynami. No replies. I then contacted the shop that I bought it from and here is the reply:
"I'm sorry you're having an issue with your item. As you know we are a small mom and pop store with an all sales final policy posted at the register. With that said, I will do all I can by forwarding this e-mail directly to our sales representative at Toynami and hopefully they will resolve this manufacturing issue for you."
Well, looks I have a $300 1-armed Voltron.
Im done with Toynami... nothing but bad experiences with their products over and over again.. very expensive mistakes.

Hi, Well, about this JM, on the papeer is a cool stuff, but when I had my copy, same thing with the red arm, very tired arm!!! No sorry Toynami, this is absolutely not a quality JM as the old glorious 70 / 80 toys. I can't imagine today a boy playning with this JM!! And where are the famous Voltron sword? !!! I have the famous KING OF THE JUNGLE, and it seems to be in very good condition for a Voltron bootleg version !! And the Toynami colors work is not really good...well, a very medium quality stuff. Finally the bootlegs are more exciting! .....

I see this is on clearance for 149.99 at BB toy store. I didn't get it based on some of the problems people who bought it have had and I got a good popy version recently. After this one, I don't know if we will see another attempt at making another jumbo. I hope I'm wrong but it seems like the jumbo business isn't a profitable one for any toy company. It's the price that probably turns off the masses. I would have no problem buying new jumbos if they were somewhat cheaper or if they are loaded with gimmicks like the vintage ones were.

I actually bit. Wasn't planning on it but it was a pretty good price.
I haven't read on the issues people were having, though.
