Ive been looking at these robot kits and building one of these bipedal 19 dof units but don't know anything about them. Any help and guidance is needed. Im looking at these Kumotex and the Manoi, Darwin is a bit much. Probably give it a golion skin one day..I dont want just a radio controlled toy. I want it controllable and programable autonomous and not outdated and under 5k more like 2-3k for a really good kit. I'm gonna teach myself programming. Voltron really got my 4 yr old thinking, he's a lot like me and he said to me the other day he wants to build a real voltron and doesn't understand why no one is doing it. It should be that simple so I'm gonna encourage him. He loves voltron, thinks all my godaikin are different Voltrons and won't stop talking about Voltrons. Time for him to obsess on something new

I bought something totally different and it's on its way. Called NAO. It's a pre built academic version so I have to teach it everything but I am very excited as the robots programming has 3 different capabilities one is very simple you plug it into your computer move it's limbs and it learns what you teach it. The second will show you the code for the movement you taught or are looking at and the third is for experienced programmers to type in code. The second is the most exciting as it actually teaches you code which will be great for my son and myself. I don't know a thing about writing code let alone programming a robot.

Ive seen that as well and was one of my choices until the NAO dropped in price. About a month go it was selling for $16,000.00 so when it dropped in price and became easier to get for the public I jumped on it but now I'm having to sell off some of my prized collection pieces to pay for it. I'm sure in a month or two the NAO will be half the price and I'll be kicking myself in the rear...lol
