What would you guys recommend? I think these "wonderful" works of art would need to be displayed together in a separate collector case.

Hi zambot, not a bad idea but its going to cost a bomb , i do not know why but i do see bootlegs prices gg up steeply. I would welcome a BFJ bootleg JM but i hardly see them on sale already. The mazinkaiser is another one you might want to consider...the size is huge about 1.5times a usual JM.. good luck bro, best doe

Yeah. I figured it won't be cheap. I don't think you can start any collection when it is jumbos and not costing a bomb unless it is associated with the word Mattel. I remember seeing piles of the bootleg daitetsujin 17 here in chinatown many years ago for nothing.
The only difference with bootlegs and the real deal is for bootlegs, you are paying in the hundred range while the latter you are paying in the thousands.
Hopefully something I like will show up on ebay. You rarely see bootlegs on YHJ. Thanks for the advise.

Zambot, when you say bootleg, do you mean Nacoral, Formosa, etc..? Or do you mean D-17, Starscream, Gorg, etc?

That can be quite a task to track down some of those rare bootlegs especially since more seem to be discovered all the time.

Speaking of bootlegs, I still kick myself in the ass to this day for not getting the Chinese "jumbo" bootleg of Great Mazinger when it was available for me at such a great deal of a price; but that was about late 2007, and I was under a financial grip that I had to pass it up. I have the Chinese bootleg of Mazinger-Z stored at my mom's house. I did some re-paint work on it and posted pics in one of my online image host sites... I'll try to find them and post them here. A Great Mazinger and Grendizer "jumbo" were also manufactured in that same toy line... ...all three shared the exact same body/limb blow-mold sculpt. They were reviewed at CDX... www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2004/mazinger_zwww.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2004/great_mazingerwww.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2004/ufo_robo_grendizer...they stand 18" although eBay auctions often listed them as 20" tall, but they're not really as tall. They are kinda bulky, though. The ships on the two Mazingers are molded into the head, not detachable. I never had the Grendizer, so I don't know if its Harkens can detach as weapons features. I scored my Mazinger-Z bootleg from a dealer in HK thru eBay, and at the time (around 2006, '07) they were available quite frequently through auctions and BINs. Now they've become pretty scarce, and if any are available now it would probably have gone up in price... again IF any are available now. If you spot one at a good deal and you have the green for it, nail it quick before it disappears; it's a cool bootleg that will grow on you the more you look at it. lol zozo-mag

Yeah! If my English was good, I can tell you more about all of these bootlegs. I have some of them, probably I forget a couple of bootlegs jumbos, but I think, the list is nearly complete, also I know it exist two sort of 'jumbo' from South America a King Kong and a Frankenstein, of course nothing Machinder for these monsters, but can be cool in a collection. For my personnal information, I print two photos books of 220 pages (the two)with all JM pictures as possible (officials and bootlegs) So, it help me for not forget them!
Oh, yes, sorry I miss also the INCREDIBLE jumbo 'Big Bird' the Dunbine bootleg from Venezuela (1983-84). And the Mazinger Z from NACORAL !! Very beautiful!
After I don't know if the two versions of Aphrodai A from Emanium USA are with copyright or bootlegs same for Boss Borot.
And if you don't know it: the Daitetsujin 17 from Taiwan exist with 3 diff stickers versions!
Cosmos 2000 is 20 inch and it's a very very poor copy of Grendizer, but I never see it on sale in France!!
I have in stock these Jumbos: -Aphrodai A -Super Worrior (Daimos) with box, unique design for the body, one of my favorites. -Daitetsujin 17 (Taiwan with all parts) -Gaiking (2006 version) between 21/22 inch, very heavy robot, thin head but big horns. Still available for a cool price. (blue box) -Gaiking (the Nacoral version) two shooting fists, and a special head design (with box. -Giant Robo (I have the two diff colors versions) 22 inch -Robot Lanzamisiles (Great Mazinger Nacoral) I have three at home. -Gundan (the classic 20/21 inch bootleg) -Guyver (24 inch, green version) -Guyver (24 inch, red version) -Guyver (24 inch blue CUSTOM color version) -King of the Jungle (ultra rare version of Voltron/Golion) -King Man (the Five Robot bootleg version) with three rangers Inside his body, I really like this toy (complete in box) -Mazinga (I have the two diff versions from 'Morel) one is complete in box. The diff is the legs. -Mazinger Z Paladin de la Justicia (From Argentina) OK, you think this is the worst Jumbo ever! Well, maybe, but I really like this one, the legs are same style as Argus (Raydeen boot). Please note, it exist an ad box with a sort of gun/fist 'Lanza Puno' the firm is MAURI. I think REALLY HARD TO FIND in box! -Queen Inima (Not a machinder) but very large villain, I think it's not official toy! -Space Valour (the classic italian jumbo) easy too find now? Not sure!! -UFO Il guerrio dello spazio (Battle Fever bootleg) One of my favorites. -Ultraman Taro Tiga, 23 inch, NOT MACHINDER, but very large scale, and perfect between two classics jumbos, but bootleg of official???
Also some cools big scale in stock: -Godzilla (bootleg of Bandai version) very big! -Mazinger Z (the vinyl kit 20 inch version) still can be available on EBay -Gigantor (Tailand vinyl kit 20/21 inch) VERY massive, don't forget this one!! -Getter Shin (20 inch??) his legs are really massives, again a nice bootleg. -Combattler V (22 inch) a vinyl kit from Tailand is still available, I have an official version with large box. Interesting. -Grendizer (I have three massives bootlegs 18/20inch) -Great Mazinger (the cheap 18 inch from China). -Mazinkaiser 22 inch, beautiful but FRAGILE!!!
Please note the ITALIANS jumbos are really FRAGILES!! HANDLE WITH CARE!!!
Well, please note, I'm just a fan of Jumbos, I really like also the bootlegs, but I'm not a specialist !!
OK, good luck for find Bootlegs Jumbos.
