Josh, you're always been "CDX". Adam was a sideshow, who most of the time, only brought hate and discontent with his "my way or the highway" attitude. I had no idea he was actually getting paid, and even less so with his constant negative rants and rambles about just about anything. I have to say that, as his boss, you were really patient with him. Believe me, we could tell that he had a crappy attitude towards anything that was not of his liking (Mattel Voltron comes to mind). However, I do understand that anyone can be like that - when they are doing the work for FREE! Thank you very much for taking the time to come here and set things straight. }D

It's good to want to be professional and above the board, but sometimes it's good to air grievances and set things straight too. That's interesting that you were paying him, and you have every right to terminate an employee that isn't respectful. Simple as that. I went back and watched the solo show and enjoyed it. You talked about robots the whole show! Which was great. Keep up the good work

Josh, thanks for giving your side of the story. I'll try out the new show. I'll probably like it since I usually get annoyed with sidekicks (not a McMahon fan).

A difference of option can actually be good for a show. If everybody had the same viewpoint, it can make things boring.
If it's true about the threatening and disrespect of fellow co-workers, that's crossing the line.
The CDX audience and fans got a glimpse of this behavior in one of the live shows unfortunately. I remember watching the 100th episode which should have been a celebratory event that went downhill fast. Towards the end of the show, Adam wanted to kick an audience member out of the chatroom. He proceeded to go on profanity-laden tirade that was just ugly. I thought that could have been handled differently without being as abusive. It just let all the air out of the show after this happened. This sort of falls in line with what Josh wrote about.

Josh don't stress too much, most people get a good idea of both your personalities and priorities watching the old shows. The show will be better off in the long run, IMHO the only thing Adam did good was edit the live show down and he seemed to stop doing that months ago.

Thanks Josh, That really opened up my eyes regarding the whole debacle between the two of you. Initially, I thought to myself what is the big deal between two long time friends over some "minor" issues. Friendships are hard to come by specially those that lasted for so long. Honestly I enjoyed the show a lot more before, maybe like 3 to 4 months ago. Since then, it has been a drag to watch the show with lack of interest from you guys. (I think it has rubbed off on you as well, Josh) Hopefully with everything behind you, we will start to see a better more interesting show in the future. Yes, agreed.

Appreciate hearing your side of the story, Josh. I could tell Adam's interest was beginning to waver over the past couple months and especially with that tirade of his regarding the Power Rangers/Sentai thing that tsamtsam28 mentioned earlier. That was AWKWARD and not good. Well, both personalities did make for interesting banter over 100+ episodes but I would've done the exact same thing if I were in your position. CollectionDX will be fine and I look forward to the new content/format.

When I read Adam's Patreon message it seemed to imply CDX was accepting samples for favorable-only reviews. That's a bold statement, and as Adam did point out, he may have interpreted an e-mail the wrong way. From what I've seen, CDX has always been aboveboard when it comes to reviews and isn't afraid to call bad product out. I wish Adam the best. He rubbed people the wrong way from time to time (He burned me personally a bit on Feedback once, but I'm a big boy.) but I do appreciate much of what he brought to the show. His financial woes really had crept into the show recently (I had no idea he had been out of work for so long.) and it seemed to be taking a toll on him and how could it not. I hope he gets back on track. (And hope Josh and Adam can be friends again down the road.) I'm also glad to hear Josh's side of the story too. I wish nothing but the best for CDX-The Show going forward. While Josh seemed nervous an apologetic, his first solo show was just fine. I hope Josh continues as a solo host bringing in special guests when applicable. Some of the best shows happened when a third person was brought into the mix to add a fresh voice. I also like the idea, as someone other than me suggested post-show, that Jmann continue on in the background but be able to comment like a radio-show producer. (And tell Josh when he's not centered in front of the microphone. )

Hell, I would co-host if I could. I may not be the expert on mecha or sentai Adam was (can't remember what his specialty was), but I could at least bring in comedy.

When I read Adam's Patreon message it seemed to imply CDX was accepting samples for favorable-only reviews. Exactly what I was thinking as well. CDX isn't known for this, but I can't imagine anything else happening that fits in with the context of what's been written so far from both Adam and Josh. Josh, can you confirm whether or not this is true?

Josh, can you confirm whether or not this is true? This is not the case. We never promise a favorable review, nor will we accept any review samples that have that stipulation attached to it. This particular review offer in question had requested approval on what kind of video we did. Adam interpreted this as giving the vendor editorial approval. This was not the case. They just wanted a broad idea (ie: toy review or sticking it in a blender). how we produced the video and what our verdict would have been was never in question. Before getting his facts straight he lost it at me, and I decided it was the straw that broke the camel's back. I always tell my reviewers to be OBJECTIVE when doing reviews. State the good and bad, consider the target audience, and then give constructive criticism.

Chachi would be a no brainer as opposed to Adam a no brainer.lol seriously Adam was hard to look at with all his weird facial expressions.ugh.Like facial exposition or something about everything he said came with an overacted explanatory expression. He always had this air about him like he thought he was cool or something ..yea right. Josh I'll stick to your side of the story any day pal.Your a good guy even if I'm not a fan of the show always liked your one off YouTube reviews. But Adam made CDX intolerable for me I just have problems watching him even with the volume off.

There are many reasons why we do Spring Cleaning... ...no matter what those reasons are, they cannot take our eyes off of our goals for Spring Cleaning: to start fresh and enjoy the newly organized space. Just reorganize, move on, and succeed... that's how Life should roll. zozo-mag

yeah I really like Charles, He's got a lot of energy in his review. And he's super excited even when sick. Adam, I only know him through podcasts, I remember he did some reviews back in the day, but way less as time went on. Sad to see the change up since he was there from early on. I appreciate what he's given. And hope he finds his footing.
I also look forward to see what Josh and the rest of the CDX does. A lot of new reviewers lately, I just hope they continue on with quality reviews like some of the vets. that have been there early on.

Wow, really flattered you guys. Saw my name mentioned a couple of times here and it made me smile. As you know I help out with CDX and believe me I would love the chance to be way more involved with CDX than I am. CDX the whole reason I started reviewing, CDX was my inspiration. Josh has offered the chance to co host certain dates and I will do my best to do it more often if I get the chance. My biggest obstacle is my band because we are practicing during the week now that weve created a buzz. The moment I get the chance I will jump right on it, maybe drop some expensive gokin on the floor while Im at it. COUGHdaiojaCOUGH yeah I really like Charles, He's got a lot of energy in his review.
