This is a clear example of the fact that most modern anime robots are over-detailed...

YUP which for some reason I forgot to mention here. Oh well, you spotted it anyway Totally samurai-looking, reminds me of Zambot 3 to be honest. Must be the crest also the shoulder plates are another nice samurai element. Probably one of the robots that better fits your specifications, ricecake.

I can't believe none of you mentioned Battle Fever. Shame on you all. I am preparing banishments from Robot-Japan for all posters in this thread.

Mhm, it has indeed a samurai-esque look. From the waist up, at least. Nice chest armor and shoulder plates there. The helmet, meh, is kinda vague. But still, very samurai-looking, specially with that katana Maybe Battle Fever didn't get mentioned because he's not as known as other robots? Who knows.

Battle Fever looks nice too! I've been getting back into Power Rangers and so have dabbled a little into Super Sentai. mecha-mecha: Thanks, that was one of the first ones I came across that really caught my eye and caused me to delve further into the samurai look. I actually already have the Japanese version Shinken-Oh as well as all the auxiliary mecha to form Kyoryu Samurai Ha-Oh, one of the biggest cluster f's, but I love it It is more acceptable if you realize that a lot of the stuff behind him is a "throne" that he's standing on. collectiondx.com/toy_review/2009/dx_samurai_kyojin_mogyudaioh

here's another one, Gundam Fix Figuration, Musha Gundam In fact, i see the entire line of Gundam having a strong samurai influence in their designs.

I built a couple Gundam models and had a lot of fun with it so I've been looking at model kits. I came across a few more that I liked. I'm on my mobile so can't post a lot of details, but at least I'll give the names for future reference. - Sengoku Astray Gundam
- Kotobukiya Frame Arms Magatsuki
- Hasegawa Kagekiyo (from Virtual On), there seems to be 4 variations of this one
