The mix between Prime and Animated series... The show is scheduled for 2015. Grimlock prototype ? (Looks like R. Emmerich's Godzilla...)

I am hoping for Animated or Prime quality toys. I liked both lines.

This is 3d with cellshading rendering... Hope they will add more characters and also crowd... Prime was very good but textures where very poor, specially with backgrounds.

I am happy with the return to partial 2d for an increased character budget. More characters means more toys. The last wave of movie toys does make me a little scared for the room line tho. It might help if their network doesn't stay premium as well.

I was just watching this with my kids again the other day and I was astounded with the level of detail on each bot compared to the average show out there. The Robot models are amazing on Transformers Prime where on this show they look flat. It is not even good cellshading from what I have seen. Very nonplussed

Very nonplussed its more on the lines that although it was a great series (possible the best one of them all) with the story and action elemets, it has the issue of the brown effect and smudge effect that many people critize about it. this one wants to make it more eye catching and detailed as possible. on another note, is it just me or this prototype Grimlock is trying to pass as Godzilla. hope it ends up as a voyager because rigth now it looks kinda small to me.

I agree. I would like more figures. Still not sold on the art though. Sometimes it looks really dithered and I am not digging that. I guess I got spoiled with Transformers Prime. Transformers GO! was cel-shaded and not good at all

Hasbro want to put more effort in animation and expressions. Transformers go was like Galaxy Force : robots moving like bricks. The main focus is characterization in anime. That's why you need to have a large range of expressions. Galaxy Force sticked too much to the toys, in fact these where the CAD meshes of the toys adapted for animation (with basic rigging). The same with TF Go... Prime was handle better : directing was clever to focus on story and not turning the show in toy window.

I liked the look of this new series. 2D cel shade animation isn't bad and these character design looks good enough for me. Designs looks better than animated and I for one liked TFAnimated. Now a lot of people hated animated because it looks like it was drawn by the same group that did Powerpuff girls. But Animated is a great series because the stories were well told. i like the way they describe Primes as a Rank and that there is more than one of them around. Sentinel Prime was a jerk in that series. I like the story of Starscream's clone and how each clone has part of his personality which turned them into characters like Skywarp is his coward side, Thundercracker is his funny side, SlipStream the female seeker is because of his homo side. Transformers Go and Galaxy Force I don't like cause the stories stinks. Nothing against Japanese Transformers but I never liked any of the TF series that came out of Japan. The stories just aren't captivating or interesting, for me maybe, it is missing the good old USA touch I guess.

I'll give the new series a chance. I am glad its going back to CN instead of the HUB. Dispite Hasbro rebranded Hub into "Discovery Familly", they aimed CN for a mass diffusion. Prime was not a big hit in term of audience. Beast Wars was supposed to push up the audience, surfing on the fan base about old Beast Wars serie... Failed. TF Animated was a huge hit, so easy to understand this new choice and design. I just hope it will have 2 sens of lecture for kids ans adults (all hail de Simpsons). IMO, I dig the designs and this new proposal. On another side, I really like what has be done and achieved on TF Universe video game. I could be a base start for a serie, even with a cartoon render. Let's wait 2015 Spring for the fist episode.

The combiner wars are about the only thing I think I am looking forward from Hasbro. That is unless they do BB and Wheel jack MP figures too.

So far I am willing to give it a chance. It looks alright, thought the human animations is meh. Its a shame no promising toys have been shown yet. I would like to see a proper Grimlock toy.

Putting away the fact Hasbro is always aiming mass market versus collector figures from 3rd party crew, Dinobot section is a bit overhelmed... ?
