The falcon is new.
The x-wing wings do not separate. It is really big though.

Yeah, I got the X-Wing. Haven't taken it out of the box yet though. I'm building a new display case for my Bourno Spazer and it's going in it also.

i believe I saw a giant X-Wing with electronics at SAMs club. I appreciate the size but I really wish it was scale to one of the 15 different figure sizes they make now, and it wasn't just a giant hunk of plastic.Cockpit doesn't open . I gave my son the remade Falcon from 96 or so and he loves it. Its huge to a four year old and can open and hold figures. For the Falcon to be in scale with the new X-Wing you would need one bigger than the store display one from the 90s that was 5-6 feet long.

I read some forums on model building on this piece. Some guy mentioned buying two in order to make one with wings that separate. It could be a good base piece for making something even more special if you have the skills to do it.

I hear ya there, Zambot3. Skills, and the tools and/or machinery as well. It takes quite some work to cut and modify this type of hard plastic material; especially for some odd shape such as the X-Wing fighter.
Gotta be careful, though- this hard plastic is unpredictable when trying to cut through it... one slip of the cutting tool could cost you a body part. I cringe at the thought of it.

I'm waiting for them to make a giant star destroyer. The playset Kenner made back in the day looked nothing like one.

Wasn't that playset the Death Star? Either way an Imperial Star Destroyer would rule. My son would require one.

Both the star destroyer and Death Star playsets were good for their time, but really looked more like playsets than anything remotely close to their actual movie design.

I totally forgot about that playset. Love the hang a rebel upside down feature.
