Cool!
To be honest, I find the Korean KO's box art to be quite attractive and better looking than the actual toy that it represents.
Out of curiosity, how is its quality?

Quality is your typical sub par korean plastic with whacky colors and random gimmicks everywhere. The wheels roll, the fist launches, there are missiles that does fire and the missiles themselves are in silver. The pieces do connect but they're plastic in construction unlike the original so over time excessive play wear will most likely affect the toy at the connection points. Overall, in comparison with the original articulation is pretty darn close. The arms swing 360 degrees, the elbows bend up to almost 90 degrees with its double jointed construction, the knees bend slightly as well allowing a slight bend to the figure when connected. I didn't try to jam the pieces together too hard for fear of breaking the pieces at the connector points as stated earlier. The fit is snug and tight between the legs and feet and head, the torso can be connected tighter but I didn't want to apply too much force like i said earlier.
The wheels on the legs and crotch area are permanent so you can't really hide them, though i'm sure you can probably remove them .... but that would leave unsightly holes in certain areas of the bot haha...
I just thought it was a really interesting replica from the original source material and definitely deserved some attention given how odd and rare it seemed.... I should probably display this with my other Korean KO golions for a photo op one day ...

How tall is that figure? And does it combine? I'm pretty sure I have seen that set or a similar smaller one before.

It looks to be about 13" inches tall... 13.5"... perhaps 14". From here, I'm looking at it- as it is standing in front of that MP VV in the background. It's quite a good sized specimen. Love all those little missiles, too. For what it is, looks like you nailed a really cool specimen for your collection. As I noticed the title of this thread from the Index page, that David Bowie song "Space Oddity" played in my head. zozo-mag

I paid 275 for it which is not cheap by KO standards I would say, but then again I haven't seen one of these around in general and based the golion Korean KOs i have i know its rather hard to find usually which with added curiosity of wondering this thing actually would connect even made me pull the trigger.
The bot does combine and when combined it measures exactly the same size as the original DX voltes V 12 - 13 inches as magengar had noticed already I didnt want to stress out the connector points too much as it is all plastic unlike the original DX. The gimmicks work at least the firing bigger missile and fist is concern as I didnt want to break the smaller missiles from the original sprue tree and the bot connects rather snuggly. One of these days I'll take photo of it with my godaikin voltes DX for comparisons.
I fell in love with the box art and was just too darn curious on whether it would connect or not myself. So yeah had to get it to try it out myself hahaha....

Cool score! One or two used to show up on ebay every year, but I haven't been watching as much last couple years, so probably has gotten scarcer, like mojacko said.
For fans of the Korean DX knockoff sets, this is one of the more sought after, right with the King Lion DX set.
Most of the DX sets that I've seen have a couple variant box arts over the years, but always really REALLY eye catching, and the big part of the appeal.
Usually pretty cheesy quality, all plastic, but same size as the DX Japanese chogokin it's based on, with thin white vac formed inner holding tray. And the colors of the toy parts usually get a laugh at what they chose, but like you've found, there's usually some splashy gold or silver chrome blingy treatment somewhere, haha!
For a jumbo in the same style, my favorite is the King of the King, Godsigma rip, that has a full art box, and inner tray, with cool snazzy art on outside similar to this.

Sure, Dave did a nice review on it a while back, and when we kinda/sorta tried to do a GodSigma character specific toy display at one of the summits at Mason's house, I got to hold(cuddle) it a bit, LOL! Check out the box! How many jumbos do you see packed in a huge squeakyfoam tray? AND an inner window cutout lid?! Like darkfriar has posted, the art is the biggest part of the charm with the Korean stuff sometimes. www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/bootleg/king_kingAnd BTW, thanks darkfriar for posting a whole range of photos here, of this rare VoltesV bootreg, along with your thoughts, and playability notes, Haha!

I love the box art too... Not too hot for the white torso and thighs ... Otherwise, it looks like Voltes V to me... Hurray for Knock offs...
