From Matt Alt to ToyboxDX FB page : Tokyo-based TBDXers, there is a Yoshiyuki Takani art exhibition going on downtown through December 25th at the Yayoi Museum. Your chance to see those classic paintings for Zoids, Xabungle, Dunbine, Gundam, and Macross packaging with your own eyes. Love his works. I have few of his books. Any of the books focus specifically on box art and similar robot work? The exhibition sounds great, wish I could go.

Love his works. I have few of his books. Any of the books focus specifically on box art and similar robot work? The exhibition sounds great, wish I could go. There are quite a lot of books dedicated to his works. Mine are 'Anime Illustration' covering his works for Combat Mecha Xabungle, Aura Battler Dunbine, and a lil bit of SDF Macross (which are mostly his initial works for box cover art of Arii plastic models), and also 'Wonder Art Takani Style' (military illustrations, Godzilla, L-Gaim, Layzner, etc) and another one is dedicated book for Panzer World Galient (which heavily has his works in it). There are also other books out there specially covering his works for Gundams, Ultra Q, and other stuff. Mostly his works were used for box cover art, official publication poster, and whatnot. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
