That's hobby search. I've never used them but a lot of older stuff is out of stock (they tell you). They are a great reference for looking at things like older complete model kits etc. I always find the search a bit cumbersome but the stuff they still have catalogued is worth the time it takes to search.

Yeah. That's HobbySearch. They're ok. I shop from them from time to time. Usually during their regular sales-periods. Otherwise, you do price-compare between them and the other regular import-shops. Anecdotally, I get my SAL stuff delivered at least two days quicker from them than with Ami or HLJ or anybody else I import from. And they have points you accumulate, too. Which is nice. btw, here's their english-site: www.1999.co.jp/eng/It's a bit easier to navigate and understand than their japanese-site.

First time ordering with them. Placed an order last Wednesday (9/14) for two in-stock items. Hasn't processed yet.
On average does it take a while for HobbySearch to process an order and dispatch? With Amiami, they seem to do have it shipped almost within 24-48 hours.

Can't speak for their speed (I usually preorder from them and rarely buy in-stock items to tell how fast they ship), but they are very reliable and one of the big players that's been around for many years. If you are in doubt, shoot them an email to find out if there is a delay.

How is their packing/packaging of the items? Is it on par with Amiami? (Sturdy box, plenty of paper to pad the item etc?)

Better than HLJ, on par with Mandarake.
