I've got to say this is probably the most underrated Takara robot ever made. It's an early Diaclone from 1981, looks amazing in both modes, and was the first transforming robot with a truly impressive transformation. People often credit the Macross Valkyrie as the first transforming robot that did more than turn over and flip a plane nose over its head, but Diattacker came before it. I highly recommend Diattacker for any fan of bulky transforming Diecast robots.

I'm at work...and probably having problems seeing your picture. Can you please post the link itself, thanks. I [glow=red,2,300]completely[/glow] agree that the Dia-attacker is a SUPERB toy. No one has really taken the time (I should have ) to do a write up on it. One day..... But yes, it transforms smoothly and really is a superb sculpt sitting next to other chogokin. -Ed

Those are some kick arse pictures! I see them now ;D ;D ;D
Indeed, I always felt like I stole something when I purchased mine. It is SOOOOoooo underrated it is sick.
If the Transformers fans out there actually held it they would whimper. Many TFs are overpriced, especially compared to it.

Welcome to the BBS Taarouza! Parts for him are pretty tough to find among collectors. I suggest looking for a broken one on e-bay and then combining parts. That or make your own using super Sculpey art clay -Ed

Sounds like you got quite a deal for $3. That's the beauty of cool rare toys no one knows. I got mine for $8. I have a pic of what the accessories look like here: He also has a bunch of missiles. I was lucky enough to find my accessories on ebay for $15, but they're not easy to come by. You might just find yourself having to buy a complete one for a bit more, unfortunately

I don't know anything about Diaclones; are they entirely made of plastic?

Diaclone used an inconsistant amount of diecast in their toys. Diattacker had a healthy dose though. Most of him, aside from his legs, is diecast.

Well it depends. The original Diaclone version is nearly impossible to find MIB, and you'd definately pay a fortune for it, but the American released Kronoform version (which has only a few minor alterations in quality) surfaces on ebay MIB quite often, and shoots for around $60-80. A loose one incorrectly listed (which happens often) will go for under $10, but won't have it's accessories.
Diattacker is definately one of my favorites of all time. GREAT in both modes (one of the best Diaclone vehicles for having fun with the little drivers) and the Transformation is amazing, as well. He seems light years beyond the car robots to me, yet he came first. He even preceeds the Macross Valkyrie!
