agreed, but i wish it had some diecast.
Come on, Iron giant, not Plastic giant Right? especially for a $300 fig. Still, congrats for those who been waiting for this guy. Much better then previous outing. may b the next iteration will have some "iron" in iron giant.

300 $ for a 16-inch well articulated figure?
I don't know about you guys... but for a 40 centimetres tall figure, the price seems reasonable.
Also, I'm kinda thankful that there's no diecast in the toy, just imagine what the extra weight would do to those joints (also, look at the body proportions of the robot). I think having it plastic is and will be better in the long run. No unnecessary stress.

as much as i REALLY want to have and add an Iron Giant figure in my collection.. no way i would shell out 300 bucks on a non- metal, non-transforming figure. he doesnt even have add-ons for "berserker mode". just my two cents..i think there are probably more deserving mechs out there for my money. the same plastic-type triple changing transformers generation metroplex costs half the price.. and hes bigger,, two feet tall. ill gladly welcome it if it was at "pacific rim figure" prices.. even its smaller.. coz having it that big will just take up much needed chogokin space anyway.

I think part of the price might come down the the quality. I know one of the people involved and he comes from the art toy world, where things are made in limited quantity and high quality. He also worked with 3A on early stuff AFAIK. I am going to guess this will be like a setinel piece. Well engineered and well made. Sadly, I doubt I will be getting this figure myself, but its largely due to my budget being focused elsewhere.

This is cool news. I totally missed this. The going rate for the first Trendmasters "Ultimate Iron Giant" toy, is $150-250, and that is a cool toy, with neat light up, mostion, voice features and articulation, and is huge.
Watching the vid and looking at the pics in the link closely, MONDO really did a great job making this toy just about perfect, straight out of the movie.
