How rare is the Marlboro car version of Wheeljack? (The Lancia Stratos Diaclone in red) I've seen people say it is very rare yet have seen quite a few for sale....for BIG bucks -Ed

Exceptionally rare. They were virtually impossible to find for a long time, much like Police Sunstreaker, but they've become more readily available recently, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the economy. People are losing jobs and selling off prized possessions?
Whatever the case may be, prices for ALL Diaclone items have dropped ridiculously over the past year. I think the non-TF ones have a chance of going up again, but with all the G1 reissues becoming readily available, people are becoming less interested in variations of G1 molds. Some of the "magic" is lost with increased availability. I wouldn't pay too much for one right now.

Thanks for the perspective!
Indeed I thought it was like hens teeth...then I saw them on auction often.
I'm sure the supply will dry up soon... -e-

I'm willing to bet it may have come down to a single collector or business who had multiple copies of it and put them all up for sale at once. They'll get resold a couple of times by sellers trying to turn a quick profit and will ultimately settle with buyers who intend to keep them.

Yes, multiples have been found by some Japanese dealers... but that really isn't all of it. With Takara re-issuing Diaclones left and right... people are just dumping their items.
