Hi there,
I recently purchased a Kronoform Multi-Force, and I have no clue to whether this is considered "true" Diaclone for the purist collector.
I know very little about this line (except for the 3 cars, that were released later as Transformers), so if anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Seaspray98

Hi there!
Kronoform is a genuine Takara toy line, but it is not true Diaclone. Takara first took Diaclone to America with its short-lived Diakron toyline, and then (after they sold a bunch of the rights to Hasbro for the Transformers) they released some of the rest as Kronoform.
Kronoform is still a quality toyline (especially if you're not looking to pay a fortune for original Diaclones) but the drivers are inferior (second-rate mold and no magnetic charge on feet), the missiles have been changed (child safety and all), and there is occasionally a lower diecast content. In the case of Multi-Force, the toy is probably the same quality, though you'll notice some "USA" stickers on his sheet that were added for the American release. Also, the toy's "Diaclone" name is Gatsblocker. MultiForce 14 is the Diakron/Kronoform name.
Hope this helps, and congrats on your purchase!

So does that make Diakron just like Diaclone? Is the guy on the left hand side just like the Diaclone toy?

Actually, Diakron is much closer to Kronoform in quality than Diaclone. Both were produced during a time in which Takara was nearly bankrupt and looking to cut costs in any way possible. Since both lines were produced in America only a year apart, it stands to reason that the Kronoform Multiforce 14 was probably just repackaged leftover Diakrons, or at least from the same mold.
For some reason, the Diakron version is far more common. In fact, it's the one I have.
