Dude, it's not an eBay conspiracy or false inflation based on errors. It's simple supply and demand economics. Supply low - demand high among a group of passionate collectors. Significance (whether historical, nostalgic, aesthetic or otherwise) is in the eye of the beholder. If it's not your thing, don't worry about it. Not trying to be dismissive or jerky about it but, again, the economic principle is pretty straightforward. no its not. When my dad was a kid the average guy with an average job could buy a corvette if he so desired.the average guy today cannot! There is plenty of supply of corvettes..see what I mean? Its the jerkoffs who put stupid prices on things and change the market overnight ..do you know the average guy who looks on eBay thinks buy it now prices are what something is worth..and then sells his same item for same amount or more and when those prices are ridiculous everyone follows suit..those prices for jumbos were changed very quickly by a few greedy people trust me..I understand how the collecting market works and it has nothing to do with supply only demand ..the sellers create the supply..there are plenty of "rare" items out there..being sold for stupid prices. If jumbos were reproduced exactly like vintage ones you'd see tons of vintage ones up for sale and sellers clammering to make a dollar before their value dropped..therefore a new supply is created and demand drops..

You can say the same of comic books or baseball cards. There are plenty of reprints of Action Comics #1 but the original goes for millions. I don't know what the point Baron is trying to make other than all hobbies have sellers who want to be able to make the most they can. I'm wondering why no one gets mad at someone who buys property put the value at an extremely high price to make maximum profit. Yes, there's a difference with housing and collectibles but it's the same idea.
We know the prices are going higher than most of us can afford for certain jumbos. It's weird cause their fan base is small yet large enough to drive prices high but not big enough for a toy company to want to make repros for a profit.
Toy angst. We all go through it. I really want a Godsigma jumbo but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon and I accept that. Talking about evil sellers trying to stop you from getting jumbos isn't going to change a thing. You're not getting that piece.
